SO FLIPPIN MAD

I took my son's phone in a month ago (he had stuck a dart in the screen). They REFUSED to repair it. They said it was "cosmetic" and not a covered repair. I have paid HUNDREDS for the insurance and they wouldn't fix it. My husband said "cancel the insurance". I talked to Sprint the next day and they confirmed it wasn't a "covered repair". We accepted that, he's due for an upgrade in October. However, I cancelled the insurance. NOW the phone is getting moisture into it, I have no insurance, and they won't work with me AT ALL. :rant

My phone is out of contract (it has been for a few months). My son's phone will be out of contract soon. And, my husband's phone has several more (maybe 6) months on his contract. I said just now, "y'all don't understand, you've made me SO mad over this issue, I'm not planning on renewing ANY contracts". Their response, "well you could pay retail". I hung up.

Oh my gosh! I would have been livid too!

Okay, so I called the local store manager and said well, look what a mess your new little dipsh!t caused. If I had been able to speak with one of the regular guys in there (they all love me) this whole snowball would have never started rolling.

He offered me an early upgrade. I'm letting them stew while I decide if I want to be locked in for 2 more years. I have never had these issues with Sprint before, so I've been raging!

We were always mad at Sprint. Switched to Verizon a couple/three years ago, where we remain happy customers.

Tell them to shove it and go to Verizon. Or AT&T.
They are all asshats. I gave up my ATT phone after 14 years because they wouldn't change my number in the middle of a contract and give my old number to the new owner of the business.

I long ago gave up on contracts.

And new phones.

I buy mine used on Ebay. Go with whomever has the best coverage, and a price/plan that I like.

Forget being loyal to a cell phone company. That is old fashioned.

We have used Verizon since it was Air Touch Cellular- back in the 90's.

I try to buy used phones, or inherit phones from relatives who, "just have to have the newest fad." Works for me; I have no contract that way. :thumbsup

Sort of weird since I have been with them for so long... but if I want - tomorrow I could change my plan with no penalty.

I hate strings. AND, I hate that a company can treat me poorly because I am "over a barrel" of a contract...which is what they have done to you.

They are not valuing your business, nor are they showing you proper customer service - since you bought the insurance, they should have helped you out... It is sad that instead it seems you must say the phone is stolen (as GD alluded to) to have an "insurance policy" work? :rant

My contract is up with AT&T and I'm trying to decide who to switch to. I hate AT&T. I had Cingular and never had problems with dead zones. A few months after AT&T bought them, my signal went from a full one to just one or two bars when standing outside. Inside the house, I couldn't get a good signal. Rumor had it that AT&T sold a lot of Cingular's towers and this caused the signal problem.

Any good recommendations? From reading Madea's recent experience with Sprint, I'm not putting them on the list.

I feel your pain Madea..Tmobile treated me the same way about insurance. My kids contract with them is up in December. We will be moving to a new provider when it's up. I'm seriously considering getting them phones without contracts. That way we can change it when we need to.

Honestly Fox, six months ago I would have recommended them wholeheartedly. I've been with them for 8 years. Any issues, and there haven't been very many, were resolved quickly, or at least addressed respectfully. This whole thing has blown my mind. With them though, I have MUCH preferred going into the local Hiram Sprint store than dealing with the 800 number.

:dunno It is hard to recommend anyone. Individual experiences will vary. With have been with Tmobile for more years than I can remember, never had a problem, and had the same issue as RNG with the phone and insurance and had a totally different outcome. They were awesome to us and always have been. I can not give you one instance of any problem in all the years with them.

see I don't get it as I have been with them for years to and usually don't have any issues but they would not help at all with this situation (even the local store). It is what it is I guess. :(

Which carrier is best just depends where your normal usage area is. They all have coverage areas that suck. Certain places in this county aren't served well by any of them.

Verizon probably has the best overall coverage, AT&T a close second.

I love AT&T, but I loved TMobile too. TMobile just didn't offer iphones.

I love my Andriod. I was not happy with the Iphone. (I borrowed my GF's for a week when our contract was up to see if I wanted to go that direction.) I do think they both have things that are good about them, I just prefer the Andriod.
