So, fill me in on a fundraiser...

LisaC

I'm here to spin the moral compass.
I keep seeing a FB post about Rodney's "donation" dinner because they need to raise $20,000 to stay where they are. Does this mean they are behind on their mortgage? What's the scoop? :dunno

Nevermind - I saw it on the other site.

Well fill me in. Please don't make me go there. It's icky there.

The short story: They have to raise $20,000 to pay back interest on the mortgage. Apparently, they fell behind on payments and then their bank was seized by the FDIC and they listened to someone who told them to stop making payments (and apparently didn't save the money from those payments). So, they are having a dinner fundraiser.

There is one in Hiram, owned by another person.

Yes, but if it's the location I'm thinking of, it is no longer called "Rodney's" and hasn't been for some time.

The Hiram Rodney's closed years ago (at Nebo and 92) (thankfully!). I've never been to the New Hope one. The Happy Hawg that's in the old Rodney's location is no affiliation.

Have you tried Happy Hawg? We try to go there at least once a week. Very happy with the food.

You are quite right. My bad. They kept the same phone number they had when it was Rodneys. When I call in an order my phone shows Rodneys. Going to change it now.

Rodney had a partner in the Hiram location. The partner bought him out and changed the name, and ultimately closed down.

This might be an unpopular stand, but if you don't pay your bills ...

BTW, I love the food there and I loved Benson's. Happy Hawg is just OK.

Sent from a small screen using fat thumbs.

It may not be as unpopular as you think...

Didn't love the Hiram Rodney's. Never tried Benson's. But, you'll find us at Happy Hawg every Friday night. :)) (Except during football season.)

Happy Hawg is very good! We drive by it every day, so "She who adores me" gets take-out once a week or so.
