I am not going to comment on this at all. I would be more inclined to do so if you visited here more often. Just my 2 cents.

My offer to be in the dunking booth at your next fund-raiser still stands. ;D

Look out mister! You may find yourself getting wet at our next fund-raiser! :laugh :p

I'm with ShoeDiva on this one. The video replay of these meetings, in my ever so humble opinion, is an easy access record of the meetings for the mnay citizens that can not make every meeting. Again in my opinion, the TV broadcast of these meetings should be viewed as a video minutes of the meetings. If we're not broadcasting them in their entirety, they are providing a false impression of what took place in the meeting.

You guys have to remember, they do have programming issues to deal with on a public access channel. My father is very involved with the one in his community. He says it's not uncommon at all to edit the video from these meetings to fit in the designated time slot for broadcasting.

Fox that answer would be reasonable if we had not been specifically told why it was cut. I has nothing to do with time, and this is not a random cut by a local programming supervisor. So it does not apply in this situation.

I'm certainly not taking PauldingPundit's word on anything.

:laugh You are bad! There was an email posted. I am just saying if it was a tv programing cut, your argument would have merit. As it appears, it is not one, so it does not apply. The lame reasoning that was given by the BOC is just that, lame. IMO
Now if you have other information........

I'm not accepting the email as proof as it could have been copied and pasted and edited by the poster. I'm not saying he did that, but it's easy to do. I'll send an email to the county myself and ask.

Great! Let us know what they tell you. :)

The email at Paulding Pundit's site "appears" to be the full email. It does differ from what was posted here, but it does appear the county is claiming it's a "budget" issue.

I do understand that but I also understand that if a blanket decision has been made to remove citizen comments then somebody needs to review the allotted time for this programming ... assuming that is the reason.

Went and read the apparent email. Still don't feel any different. I guarantee you I can easily find that money to cut elsewhere.

How many of you guys watch the BoC meetings on the public access channel?

I do sometimes but that isn't the point. I don't go read the minutes from every meeting either but I expect them to be a complete record of the entire meeting. Broadcasting of the meeting implies it is the full content of the meeting. And I would much rather see the entire meeting, including full citizen comments, than some of the other stuff that is rebroadcast ad nauseum.

::ditto

I will also add, as stated before, until a citizen brought something up I could be unaware of it even happening/going on. It is a big county and sometime you do not realize all that is happening here.
