Religion of Peace

Hmmmm, such a peaceful bunch they are. (spoken in my best Yoda voice)

She ain't bad looking.
(yes, that is what I took from that article)

They have been fighting and killing each other and others for over 2000 years, so nothing surprises me.

I prefer the acronym used by many at lucianne.com and other sites: ROPMA (Religion of Peace, My Arse).

It is horrible, very, and I hope it and pray it does not happen. But others do they same and worse and many religions state peace, yet throughout history and in the name of their God, torture, abuse, and kill. I am not saying I condone it because others do it, I am saying that calling out one for their hypocrisy, but not others doesn't really do anything.

I am all for sarcasm, but putting the articles out there without a real question of what can be done? Why is this still happening? No points to talk, but just the "peaceful" religion it just becomes a bash fest of how horrible Islam is.

Is she Sudanese, born there? How did she become Christian, was it just because she married one? Do we want to have someone step in? I know that there have been statements made to Sudan against this harsh punishment.

This has given me an idea for a s/o. I will get to it later!

Condemnation without equivocation is the only correct response to these barbaric cultural customs:

"I won't defend everything ever done in the name of Christianity. Neither will I make excuses for Islam."

Yes we can condemn this act, and I am not making excuses for it, it is horrid, but do we just pick a religion and bash? Because obviously they all feel that way. /s ;)

When that religion advocates the torture and murder of a pregnant woman for the "crime" of marrying a Christian... yes.

So we should bash "christians" that think "witches" should be tortured, burned, and murdered too?

Yes, if it happens again today like in the past, of course we should.

Show me where Christians are torturing and burning witches and I will condemn their actions as evil.

There is no reason to mention Christianity in a topic about Sharia Law, other than moral equivalence.

Africa. Their actions are evil and their claims are Christian and have laws that are basically protecting them from punishment.

The problem I have are certain people all over ALWAYS think their religion and practice is right, always. Basically everyone else is wrong and every practice (whether it involves giving money or death) is wrong and theirs is right. Not one religion or person is completely right and find it to be totally hypocritical with some of them that throw stones. (and I am not pointing out or calling out a specific person, and especially not you that I know is not.)

I understand Sharia Law is harsh, I get that. You are the first to actually mention Sharia LAW, others just mentioned the religion. There is a difference. All practicing Islam do not agree with every thing as all Catholics do not believe in not taking birth control or all Christians do not believe homosexuals are going to hell. I, just again as in other threads, dislike the generalization implied. Some in that religion are peaceful, do not kill, and are productive citizens. Some are not, just as some christians, catholics, baptist, etc, etc are not.

LOL Does this make sense? I am on meds for my migraine and just now are able to even read anything. It makes sense in my head..... :))

Whipping and hanging a pregnant woman for the "crime" of marrying an apostate is wrong.

Where did I state or infer it isn't?

Just forget it. I am done with this conversation. I gave you answers (to your questions) and reasons (why this topic as a whole against one religion is bothersome) and you go back to it is wrong, well yeah it is.

This topic is about ISLAMIC LAW.

I'm not sure why it is bothersome to acknowledge that Islam has a serious problem with violent and barbaric religious customs.

I have a problem with your moral equivalence argument because it is a distraction from the real issue here, that this new mother will be
legally tortured and murdered in the name of religion. A religion that has yet to confront the practitioners of these primitive Islamic laws.

Whatever. You believe what you want about what I think, because you are NOT right. I have already stated that this is horrible. SMH

Persecuted Christians flee Iran, find hope in Germany:

Interesting and relative to this thread.

I understand that you condemn these actions and believe that this is wrong.

The introduction of your extraneous argument of hypocrisy was my objection.
