Sprucing up the home front here, layed two p/u truck loads of mulch today. Decided to thin out some jungle bushes and trees.......until I disturbed a yellow jacket nest in the ground. Thought I had some sort of thorn bush attached to my leg. NOPE!!!. I ran thru the garage quickly, shut the back door, and hid. Those little pest were pissed at me and looking for my arse. :elmergun

Dave, do not disturb the yellow jackets. They won't like you then. (Praying you're OK. :pray)

I hope they had a nice swim. Warm water with soap in a jug poured in their little entrance hole in the ground, then a rock placed over the hole. My luck, they have a back entrance and will be awaiting me tomorrow to finish off

I've heard they have two exits. Could turn into an entrance ya know!! Please stay safe I've had yellow jacket fights before, they always win.

Sadly to report I unfortunatley found out they had a redunant egress point. I will be waiting once again until dusk to make MY attack! :elmergun

Pour gasoline down it and then strike a match. Fry 'em.

Hubby cut the grass earlier and said he thinks there's a nest near the AC unit. Just went out and peeked, there are bunches of them  They are just hovering over the ground and on the Willow tree. Could they be after the water from the AC or do they have a nest. If it's a nest, I don't know how hubby didn't get stung, he rode right over it with the lawn mower. :dunno

From what I have read about the PIA insects, fall time is the worst to come across their little community nest as they are collecting carbohydrates and crap to take into the nest. :dunno :dunno I hope I got rid of the %^&*ards so I can continue my work in the yard. :tapfoot2

Seriously, pour gasoline down their nest in every entrance you can find. Pour a trail of gas a safe distance away and light that sucker up.

When messing with yellow jackets, only do what you need to do at night. Once its dark, all the bees are in the nest and not flying around. You'll get 99% of them plus they won't be so aggressive.

Thanks for the advice. I have used the gas and torch method before and just wanted to try other options due to the location of the entrance holes. Tonight, I'm torching them!!!!!!
