pchs on list of 78 worst-performing schools

Yeah, I can see that. A friend of mine teaches in an alternative school in S. Fulton. Her stories are NOT pretty.

Which makes PCHS look even stupider, since it's not an alternative school. :sigh:

I have heard that since Mr. Fincher has taken over as principal things are slowly getting better, but I still hear the teachers saying the administration doesn't even listen to them at all. They do as they wish without regard to the teachers input. My son is supposed to go to Paulding next year however I have sent in a request to have him school choiced to another school. I have no personal connections with Paulding high so I am not saying I am transferring him due to that, I just asked to choice him to Hiram because that is where my oldest has been for the last 4 years and she has never had any problems, I love the principal there, I know alot of the teachers and I am just comfortable there. Also he wants to go there because he really is in to the chorus program and he loves the chorus teacher at Hiram. I sincerely hope Paulding gets it's act together. I think with Mr. Fincher leading it, it has alot of potential.

How did your kids wind up at two diff. HS? Did you move? I don't blame you for putting in your request...do they mostly honor those things in a situation like this?

well we were in the Hiram district when my daughter entered HS but at the end of her sophomore year they changed our district to Paulding. She stayed at Hiram. Son is in middle school and will be going into High school next year. He has been to alot of activities at Hiram because of my daughter and he likes it there. He has always wanted to go to Hiram. I hope they will honor our request! They did my daughter cause she was sordof grandfathered in.

Oh, got it. I should think with a poor-performing school you'd get your request. Keep us posted.

Isn't Fincher the one that left. I think they have a new principal this year.

Fincher is the new one..he started at the beginning of this school year. He used to be the principal at Hiram several years back then went to Grace Christain school and is now back with Paulding County

Wasn't he at Grace when "issues" occurred?
