FOX 5 News will air the list of names that Mike Jones ran background checks on, tonight at 10pm.
They announced on the 6 o'clock news that Mike Jones accused Todd Pownell of being a part of, or behind, the alleged extortion attempt on Mr. Jones.
He also ran a background check on Todd.

While Mr. Jones has resigned his county paid job, he still has a "consulting" job, paying almost $50,000.
Strangely enough, this consulting contract was signed some several months before he tendered his resignation.

LTD was correct, this is only half the names.
I ain't real familiar with the movers and shakers in the county, but from the names that Jones ran background checks on; not only on the taxpayer's dime, but on county time; it looks like Jones figured some of the more prominent people in the county were out to extort him.

Ohhhhh, the reason Inspector Clouseau/Jones ran a background check on Todd Pownell and told the District Attorney and Sheriff that he suspected Todd to be involved?

Now why would that amount lead to Todd Pownell?
Because being a county commissioner pays $38,000 a year and Todd Pownell refunded his yearly salary back to the county, and, Inspector Jones thought that the amount of $32,800 and $38,000 were close enough to mean something.

I know he lives in S GA and never heard of you, but what the hell, the last guy they arrested and threw in jail, for this alleged extortion, never heard of you either.

Here's a question that I think needs asking and investigating, based on all the lies, threats and intimidation by Mike Jones.
How do we know there really was someone trying to extort money from Mr. Jones?
Based on what I have seen of the man's actions and words, he could have played this game all by himself.

Ohhhhhhhhh, one last note, since Mr. Jones specifically asked the owner of another Paulding county message board who I was, I am still willing to meet him in a public place and exchange drivers licenses.
I have nothing to hide, my life is an open book.

One example they used on TV was Patricia Barnett who's only connection was attendance at a couple of BOC meetings and lives in the airport path. I haven't seen the whole list (clearly, no one has since the other company used hasn't responded), and I haven't seen a complete list from the company that did respond, but the implication has been that the checks were done on airport opponents.

I really wish that Sheriff Gulledge would ask the FBI to investigate. he can't do it properly without the appearance of some kind of conflict of interest regardless of the outcome. But bottom line, somebody needs to investigate the entire matter, including the $50k deal between Austin and Jones. I would really like to see somebody do jail time for their wrongdoings. I'm tired of the crap in this county. I really am looking forward to eventually moving to the mountains where the biggest bruhaha is about who pays for a 500 ft water line extension, what date to open the cannery, and how much to donate to the 4H and the volunteer fire department. This place here reminds me of Boss Hog and his gang of merry idiots.
