One dish

Rolling down the highway
Is there one dish you won't make at home, no matter what??

My husband really likes oysters but no way in a million years would I have those things in my house. If he wants them, we go out somewhere far, far away. Like Florida or Savannah. :))

I like to make salmon patties. BS hates them, and doesn't even like to smell them. I can only cook them when he won't be home.

Considering how often we've been apart in 15 years (only a handful of times) you can see how rarely I get to enjoy my salmon patties!

Oh I would love that recipe. I remember my mom making these when I was little but I have never, ever made them. Of course I'd use the burner on the grill, outside. LOL

They're so easy.

Mix the salmon with an egg, flour, cornmeal (I usually don't add cornmeal), and seasoning/spices to taste. Brown in olive oil.

I use the egg, flour, S&P, and sweet basil. Yum!

Yay, thanks!! I think she used crackers instead of bread crumbs. Basil sounds like a yummy addition. I love basil.

Me, too!

It usually involves something with onion in it. :laugh

I don't cook any kind of shellfish at home. I don't eat it and don't know how to cook it. :))

Same! I love them too but M hates the smell. I usually get mom to make me some when I go visit. Linda's Place, in Rickmart, used to have really good salmon parties. They only serve them on Wednesdays...but they aren't good anymore. Must've changed cooks. :(

Mmmmmmmm...salmon patties! :love

Ditto on not cooking shellfish. Nobody here eats it, so...

Only one dish? I generally try to avoid making any dish that involves cooking...

:thumbsup Well there is that, in the summer. I don't cook much when there's outside stuff to do. It's grab and growl then.

I don't like to cook much either. Most things I make are crock pot or baked dishes. Can't stand high maintenance meals...lol.

Seriously though, I generally cook something one night a week - the rest of the time, we usually eat out or make something quick (like cereal or a sandwich) because we're on the go so much.
