Not to bring you folks down, but much prayer is needed....

Scooby

The Lawn Mower Repairman!!
My girlfriend stayed over with me on Friday night and awoke long enough to tell me something was wrong. She requested I make her a wet cold rag for her head. By the time I got back into the bedroom, she was unresponsive and gasping for air. When I saw she had tried to slip out of bed and her legs were on the floor I knew what was going on. She had a massive stroke, followed by a brain aneurism. I called 911 immediately (kudos to our EMT folks) they showed up almost the same time I followed the call to my daughter who lives 3-4 houses up from me, because she has much experience in CPR.

In short, my girlfriend was taken to Dallas Hospital then quickly flown to Grady in Atlanta. It could be days before anyone knows how much damage was incurred from this. Those of you who know about this stuff know what I mean. She will most likely survive, but the Dr's are very concerned about the damage that strokes can cause from lack of 02 to the brain.

Please just send out your prayers for HER and HER family. I'm okay...it's her and her family that concerns me most. If I lose her, I have 4 months of memories, but her own family, her children could possibly have a burden I just can't imagine.

I saw her at Grady today, she's still sedated, surgery went well, but as I suspected the Dr to say, the big concern is how things come out on the other side. This will occupy for a week or more. However, I am still open for busines tomorrow and am carrying on with my life that my daughters and ex-wife depend on. Just keep her and her's in your prayers. Thanks so much!!

So sorry to hear this. Will be remembering her in prayer.

Thanks folks. Aside from devine intervention, I am preparred for whatever may come. At least I know this....she's a good woman and if I were God, I would take a shining to her with her selfless nature and concern she's always had for everyone except herself. THAT is God's Golden Rule, as most of your folks on this site understand that selfishness and vanity is the Devil's favorite sins. The woman was void of any of that. I fell in love with her based almost entirely on that respect, as well as others things since before I actually started dating her.

I am an unusual man (or maybe it's age) I size up a woman from her HEART and compassion they have for other people. This woman broke the mold for me.....never seen so much love from a woman. Not just for me, but my own kids, even my ex-wife of 26 years. My x-wife is mourning this as well as I am. My youngest daughter is taking a big hit, since Rainy treated her like her own. If things don't work out and she moves on, it's another rose in God's garden.

I don't mean to sound distant on this issue, but I hve been in church all my life and I know that life on this planet is coming to a close. Filth and corruption has taken its toll. I wouldn't wish this on any child, yet as humans I point no fingers at anyone. It's in our nature to carry ourselves on through our kids. The future is not ours to see, so we must carry on.

Praying for your girlfriend and her family. It sounds as though she is a very special person, and your love for her is evident. Please keep us updated.

Praying for you, her and the families. Scary for sure!! If you need anything or I can help with anything, please let me know. God knows what he's doing, although sometimes we just can't understand.

Scooby, you're a good guy, not perfect but none of us are. She's lucky you were there. :hug

Prayers sent , any news/update yet?

Yes, but rather than me type it again, it's on the Snapper for Sale thread:

http://dallashwy.com/index.php/topic,11044.new.html#new

...someone asked and I replied including info on her status....in short, what looked very grim took a turn for the better. Still a ways to go, but she can sit up and is responsive. I'll post an update thread tomorrow afternoon as things unfold. Thank you folks for your prayers, and make sure you realize that your prayers made a difference and that's another jewel in your crown when you get to Glory. Prayer works! :goodjob

OMGOSH Scoob. I am so sorry. As you well know what Joe and I are going through right now, I so sympathize with you and her and my prayers are with you, her and her family ALWAYS. I am sorry even though I have met her twice I still cannot remember her name. :waggingfinger I also have a friend that had an aneurism followed by a corroded (?) aorta and then a stroke last week. I talked to her yesterday and cannot believe she survived all of this, but God was with her also. Stay strong and thanks for all you have done for me and Joe. :love
