Nope....nope....nope....and NOPE!

Maybe he's just trolling to take focus from the bad GDP numbers released today. Not a good idea even if just trolling.

He will definitely lose if he makes any move or continue to discuss delaying the election. That would only give the Democrats some heavy ammunition to use against him. I don't like mail-in voting anymore than he does because it increases the risks of voter fraud. Look at what is happening in two congressional primary races in NY that did mail-in voting. Because the envelopes were postage free, the Postal Service does not put a date stamp on the envelope and election officials are trying to determine if the the ballots were received before the deadline. It's been more than three weeks since the election deadline and still no winners can be announced.

This is very similar to the 2000 election when officials in Florida where trying to determine how a voter voted by the whole "hanging chad" fiasco. Democrats were attempting to give more votes to Gore because even though a chad had been pushed completely on ballots for Bush, the voter really was really casting a vote for Gore because the chad from him was "hanging."

There are too many ways to allow the Dems in swing states to cheat with mail-in voting. The can simply ignore those ballots with votes for Trump or claim those ballots were "late." If you recall, Democrats in Miami wouldn't count the majority of absentee ballots from military members, claiming that they were received after the deadline, even though they were received before election day.

I have seen reports where in Democratic strongholds absentee ballot applications were sent to addresses where those voters no longer live and hadn't lived for years. One person claims to have received applications for four different people. What's to prevent someone who received all these applications for people no longer living at their address from filling them out and sending them in so the can vote multiple times using other people's absentee ballots.

Dems find it totally acceptable and within a person's rights to go out in masses to protest, but not stand in line to vote. That is so hypocritical and the GOP needs to really hammer on that.

We voted absentee in the first primary, which automatically sets you up for absentee in the run off. My wife got her new ballot but I didn't get mine, so now we are talking about going up there in person and voting. If they can't get absentee right you know they can't deal with the volumes required for mail in voting!

Well, we both voted absentee last election and neither have gotten a ballot yet. Hmmm... Guess I'll head down to the courthouse...

He's playing games with the Democrats over them claiming conventional voting is too dangerous.

The idea of postponing the election is so stupid. First, it's not really possible...at least not for very long (Jan 20 is a hard deadline). Second, if the pandemic is so bad that in person voting can't happen (with proper social distancing) then how can he justify saying businesses and schools should open? Third, this gives ammunition to the left to pound on him for suggesting it.

I seriously wonder if he really wants to win any longer.

This is what concerns me. I wish he'd just quit and let Pence take it if that's the way he feels.

Sadly, even if he really didn't want to be POTUS any longer, his ego wouldn't allow him to do quit. It would be admitting defeat. Absent him or a member of his family getting sick which he could use as an excuse, he would never step down. If he loses the election, he can always blame improper voting, the media, and everyone else (some of which would be accurate) but he would never accept any responsibility.

He's still a much better option than Biden but it's not looking good.

Just the opposite for us. We voted absentee but didn't check the box for receiving ballots for the cycle. I got one anyway, sent to my Ellijay address instead of Hiram, and the Mrs didn't get one at all. Or did she? Is it lost?

So we ran up and voted in person in the runoff. They said nothing about an absentee ballot. I thought we would have to vote provisional if we received an absentee ballot. This is going to be a cluster.

If his saying he would like to delay the election is a game with the Democrats; it's a dangerous game he's playing. He's coming across badly to the public; myself included. He needs to sell the American people why having everyone mail in their vote will prevent every vote cast from being counted and how ballots could easily be discounted and even substituted. There are plenty examples that have already occurred to use demonstrating the problems with mail-in ballots not being counted.

In the 2000 election, thousands of military absentee ballots were not counted in Miami-Dade because they supposedly arrived late, even though they did arrive before election day. Absentee ballots cannot be opened and counted before election day. NY had two Democratic primaries just over three weeks ago with no winner announced because election officials are unable to determine if ballots were received on time or not because the Postal Service does not stamp pre-paid government envelopes with a date received. The news video in this topic also shows the problem that not all ballots will arrive, as the postal service misplaces or loses some.

Shopping does not appear to have declined. If people can go shopping and even have to stand in a line to wait to get into the store; then they can go vote using the same precautions many stores are requiring their customers to follow.

I agree, the optics are not appealing. He's playing a dangerous game with the independent voter. He's not worried about the conservative voter, he's already got them by default unless they sit it out.

He gave the liberals a gift by shifting the narrative to his wanting to stop the election and become king ... he should have stopped before he mentioned delaying the election.
