"Non Judgemental Church"

:dunno Did you ask? I guess it could mean different things to different people. Come as you are, laid back, etc.

First, shouldn't that description fit all churches?
Second, does he mean non denominational instead?

If he's looking for a church where nobody in the congregation is going to judge you about anything; good luck. People are people and will judge.

If he's looking for a church where the nobody in the church leadership will judge somebody about anything; good luck with that too as people are people.

I have already judged this fellow...and I don't even know who he is!
Just kidding.

You can't escape judgement....especially the final one. I believe we would ALL be well served to not worry about the judgement of man and instead be concerned about the judgement of a Holy God. Just sayin' :dunno

Non-judgemental can mean many things. I would want more information.

Is he looking for a church that isn't full of snobs who look down on him for being poor? Does he have multiple piercings and tattoos? Is he gay? Is he tired of people sticking their noses into each others' business? Is he a new Christian or has he been off the Path for a while and is now coming back? Criminal record?

People are people and we do judge. But, I have found some churches are more welcoming than others, in a large area like yours, there are a lot of choices for churches. I imagine what he's really asking is, "Is there a church where I would fit in?" I would guess that if he's asking that he may have been burned before.

Sad to say, some churches aren't very welcoming. I have an acquaintance in another town who is trying to pastor one of those churches. After a few years, he's to the point of trying to get a different call.

I've noticed people on that other forum asking about churches that accepted or condoned certain things. I wonder if this isn't similar? I know a lot of people like the watered down kind of church, the "feel good" type; but is that really what the gospel is all about?

I agree that there are churches that are snobby or unwelcoming. That's very sad. But I don't think that is what this is about.

Nothing, unless that is the main objective of the church.

Not sure exactly what they mean, but I understand that the Unitarian Universalists are about as liberal as they come.

Yeah, I've heard that worshiping God is waaaaay down on their list of priorities. And that they pick and choose from lots of religions.

And this is why I do not go to church... the God in my heart is bigger than any one religion.

Perhaps. But there are some religions that conflict with others or worship different gods. I'm not sure how a "church" can support both the Bible and Quaran.
