"My life is crazy"

Dang, people! Sometimes things just come across different than they were intended. Let's not make a federal case of it.

Yeah, I got that. It's just that I'm sick and dang tired of saying ALL THE TIME, "Sorry, I can't make it because my life is so crazy and I'm so stressed." Kinda hit a nerve, you know? And I do say it all the time...just not on here.

Believe me, same here.

I just don't think Kattie meant it quite the way it might have came across. I'm notorious for wording things poorly, so I can sympathize.

I think Kattie was referring to people who use "My life is crazy" as a constant excuse for tardiness, thoughtlessness towards others, etc, without any real sincerity behind it. That's pretty much how I interpreted it.

There's a difference between legitimately having your plate full, and just using excuses to cover one's own disregard for others.

Perfectly stated! Thank you!

I didn't say that, someone else did. Honestly, it doesn't impress me. When I hear a comment like that I think that person must be totally unorganized and can't manage anything. I would not trust them with much.

"I'm so stressed" and "my life is crazy" expressions are probably a couple of pet peeves of mine. Can't stand to hear it. Ok, I believe the "stressed" one if you have an incurable disease or a job has been lost, something of that sort. For people to use it everyday is nonsense.

*rant is over*

that is all.

:faint :faint :faint :faint :faint :faint :faint :faint :faint :faint :faint :faint

Wow.

Unorganized, can't manage anything, and not worthy of your trust? Nice. I would say to you that 2 of the people that posted in this thread are none of those things, they have businesses, good families, and are very nice people. People can be stressed over more than losing a job, or having an incurable disease. Life can and does get crazy at times, and many of us do take on more then we should. I am sorry you find that nonsense.

OK, I haven't read the rest of this thread, but I must respond. THANK YOU, SD. Kattie, I know there are many people like you describe, and I might have agreed with you ten years ago, but that was before my father became dreadfully ill and remained so for five and a half years until he died. When I say dreadfully ill, I mean DREADFULLY ill, and in more ways than one. They lived with me one year, and I lived with them for one year. All the while working full-time, maintaining a house (theirs or mine) an hour away, being laid off two times and finding another job, and dealing with my sister's marvelous mid-life crisis which involved our entire family. Then, after Daddy walked on ahead, I helped Mother clean out their home of 44 years (with Daddy being a Depression-era baby who saved EVERYTHING, that was a major undertaking), again with no help from sister, who by this time had had a baby. Right after we got Mother moved (move was planned way before Daddy died, so she wasn't making any quick decisions), baby nephew's father was killed in a car accident, and sister came to stay with us for three months. Since that time, since sister works two or three jobs, we keep nephew every weekend, and many other times as well. SO BELIEVE ME WHEN I SAY MY LIFE IS CRAZY AND I AM SO STRESSED. It's not always true, but TRUST ME...I am not a drama queen...when I say it, it's true. You can ask anyone who's known me for longer than the last ten years, and they will confirm everything I have said.

But mei lan, you described 2 things which I specifically pointed out that were exceptions. Death and loss of job are at the major stress I levels I believe. It sounds like you have had a heaping help of stress but I don't recall seeing you come on here and post that you have a crazy life. For the things you have listed I would not have a problem with you calling your life crazy but to me it looks as tho you have been through a lot of hardships and for that I am sorry you have experienced them in a seemingly short time period.

:faint So it is okay for her, because of those two specific things you stated. Interesting. Seems like that is what you have been saying since post one and what upset people.

awwww, you are spoiling me with the red letter quotes :snick_bunny

I usually don't take the time to make long-ish posts from my phone, but in this case I knew what you were saying & I identified with the frustration...so I took extra time with my post. :hug
