More from the "Religion of Peace"

Obviously not all of the estimate 1.6 billion Muslims worldwide have "bad" intentions. If they were then we'd have much bigger problems than we have currently. Most probably want to raise their kids and live in peace as most people of other religions. Just as people are not born racist they're also not born terrorists...both are learned (indoctrinated) behaviors. It is concerning though that many of the recent "attacks" have had a common theme. There is definitely an issue within Islam that needs to be dealt with from within their religion. I try to remember how lucky I was to be born in America and raised Christian adults. Had I been born in the Middle East and raised by two Muslim parents then I'm sure my world view would be much different.
We are lucky to have been born here! You are also right that people are not born racist or terrorist and I agree that within Islam they do have a problem, even Muslim countries state that. :)
My BIL that was born in a Muslim country, raised by two Muslim parents, is very happy to be here. He is a practicing Muslim and his parents have visited, as have his sisters and they are all very kind people. My sister and BIL are raising their children in both of their religions. I just guess I see so much more than the terrorist side of that religion my wish is that others would be more accepting of those that are not like them. You are very right that most just want to raise their children and live in peace like all of us do.

You can believe what you want BS. I am not blind to the radical Muslims, yet I am also not so jaded think they are all bad. Get outside of your box and get to know some of the people. Believe me that there are good Muslims that despise the radicals as much as others do.
I agree that all Muslims are not bad. There's a huge distinction between the religion and the people. The religion is flawed and evil and unfortunately, some people fall into their trap. Good people too.

Christians have a lot of the same stuff in their Bible. The difference is that most western Christians have been largely secularized and pick and choose the verses in their Bible, even though they twist themselves into all kinds of mental contortions trying to convince themselves and others that they are not. Peter had a convenient little vision to expand diet. Jesus conveniently got us off the hook for the sacrificial laws. But, even Jesus himself said he wasn't there to do way with the law. (Matthew 5:17-18) Couple that with verses about an unchanging God (James 1:17, Hebrews 13:8, Malachi 3:6 and many more), and you realize just how far a lot of western Christians have fallen from their own God. It also doesn't hurt that in the west we have secular governments that don't follow the bronze age book of myths and actually punish people for following that book by killing witches (Exodus 22:18) or killing apostates (Deuteronomy 13).

We have fundamentalist preachers here in the US who sound exactly like the Muslims. Several have been in the news recently regarding the Orlando shooting. I'm more afraid of Christians following these preachers than I am Muslim terrorists, especially since we had several presidential candidates in this current cycle attend a conference keynoted by one of these evil monsters (Kevin Swanson). Not one spoke against his evil and they were almost craven in their desire for his approval. One of the few things I respect about Donald Trump is that he hasn't been sucked in by these fundamentalists.

I would point out that Iran used to be a pretty decent place until the CIA overthrew the government there and set the stage for the religious fundamentalists who are there now. Saddam Hussein and other dictators meanwhile kept a lid on the crazies, until we interfered. And, meanwhile, the worst attack we had in this country from the Islamic faith came from George Bush's handholding buddies and US allies in Saudi Arabia, a country which is spreading the disgusting religious fundamentalism that is behind a lot of these terrorist attacks.

And here is a fun talk with a Muslim who is trying to justify the evil in his little book. The host even offers him an easy out, and he can't take it.

I agree.

FTR I did not watch your video. Once I read "destroys" I just did not want to. I am pretty sure that same man could "destroy" other religions too since he is an atheist. I respect what people want or do not want to believe when it comes to their religion, but I do not like when they try to "destroy" another. (Different Christian secs, Islam, whatever..)

This has nothing to do with Christians or George Bush.

Thought this clip was interesting, I don't necessarily think it's true but it was interesting. I'm in the camp of poverty and lack of education leads to more easily indoctrinating extremist, especially younger and more easily persuaded recruits.

It does. As several of us have posted already, the Bible and Quran both have hateful, evil language in them. The difference is that many Christians have moved further away from their imaginary friend than some Islamic countries, and, in a lot of ways, our own country has helped push Islamic countries back into those fundamentalist attitudes..

If we as a country would take some time to look at ourselves we might recognize that, in a lot of ways, we created the conditions that have lead to this terrorism. We would also recognize that the same attitudes are present in our country, squashed for the moment by a stable society, but ready to spring into the open given half an excuse.

I'm also an atheist. I'd also point out that they call him, he does not call them, unlike missionaries that come to people's homes uninvited.

Well, no. The difference is that Christians have Jesus' New Covenant of Grace.

Good Lord... you have a lot to learn.

Details of the attack :

http://hotair.com/archives/2016/07/...-separated-muslims-from-non-muslims-hostages/

The attackers in Dhaka, Bangladesh separated the hostages into Muslims and non-Muslims. The Muslims were allowed to leave or at least to survive while non-Muslims were stabbed or hacked to death.
The young man from Emory was able to quote the Koran and passed their test. He was told he could leave. He chose to stay with his friends. The punishment for that decision was death.
