Quick Update:
Apparently this went well. There were at least 1500 resignations. It is not known how many became atheists and how many moved to other faiths.

Homosexuality isn't just about sex. It's also about love.
I don't think anyone doubts that homosexuals can love each other. But that doesn't make it OK.
I would guess that there are pedophiles who love their child partners, and the children love them back. It's still wrong.
I could come up with other parallels, but I think that one makes my point.
I do not agree with the Mormon church's condemnation of children from same-sex couples. In fact I think that to be contrary to the teachings of Jesus. But I do support them on their belief that homosexuality is wrong.
I for one think there is a
HUGE HUGE difference between pedophilia and homosexuality.
The most basic reason...never mind, if I have to explain the difference
between pedophilia and homosexuality, it isn't worth my time.
Of course there is.
But they are both defined as sexual immorality in the Bible.
:sigh:
Pick and choose what verses apply in today's world.
At least add, in my opinion, to your posts, please.
Not picking and choosing at all. The Bible says sexual immorality is sinful.
Grace says that if we confess and repent, we can be forgiven for it.
Then you better not eat lobster or clams.
Like I said, if baby rapists are in heaven, I'll just stay in my urn.
Much of the old covenant was likely written to ancient Israelites. Either way, Jesus new covenant changed many things. Eating foods like lobster and clams is one of those. For someone who reads as much as you do, I'm surprised you don't know that.
Those of us who make it to Heaven will be made new. No longer baby rapists, etc.
Jesus's new covenant changed what foods you could eat?
OK people, listen up!
New rules!
Shellfish, now OK.
Polyester, now OK...except in leisure suits,
that's still a sin.
Animal sacrifice, not needed. What? No! We are not going to reimburse you for the money you spent on animals to sacrifice in the past.
Tassels - now OK, just not recommended, except on some shoes.
Eating swine - now OK. Just don't go hog wild and eat everything, like the guts and feet. What? Ohhhh, hee hee hee, yeh, I guess that hog wild part was kinda funny.
You can find the rest of these changes on your handout, but keep in mind, we will be making new rules as we go along based on what is mst convenient, so make sure you keep up.
Any questions?
Homosexuality?
Nope, that's still a sin.
I know, I know. But that is not one that we are changing.
What's that?
If it was such a big deal you think that JC would have mentioned it in passing? Aren't you the guy who asked about reimbursement for your cost on animals to sacrifice? I thought so. Look buddy, don't start no crap and there won't be no crap, got it!
What? You got another question? Boy, your just full of questions, ain't ya?
Since you are not Jewish and these covenants were made with the Jewish people, how does this affect you?
Security! Can someone get this trouble maker out of here?
Feel better now?
It's actually all pretty clear if you do some studying. Parts of the OT were aimed toward specific peoples. And yes, Jesus changed some things with with his new covenant of grace. It's all right there in the Bible.
You have the right to mock it or question it; I will not challenge that.
Not mocking, just trying to make a point, with a little humor.

Yes it is.
I suggest some studying on the history of the bible, the people in it and history of the times would certainly help make it clear.
Everyone is entitled to their beliefs, regardless if the facts support that or not.
Just be honest with yourself about those beliefs.
Example: I do not believe Obama to be an American citizen.
That is what I believe and no facts are going to change that belief.
But, I am aware that my continued belief, no matter how strong, in the face of facts (if there are facts) does not make my belief a fact.
So I readily admit that my belief about Obama may be total wrong, but I choose to still believe it.
I have said this before, it is a fact that Paul is out preaching the Jesus movement to the Gentiles.
Jesus's brother, James, is back in Jerusalem running the Jesus movement show.
He hears about Paul preaching about Jesus to the Gentiles and he and his people don't like that.
Remember, all the people in the Jesus movement at this time are Jewish.
So they call Paul back to Jerusalem, where this confrontation takes place.
They tell Paul that he can't preach the Jesus movement to Gentiles, that if they want to be a part of the Jesus movement, then they have to become Jewish and follow Jewish law.
Paul says they don't want to become Jewish and follow Jewish law, they want to keep their own religion (whatever it may be) but also incorporate the teachings of Jesus.
James says, no way!
Paul then says, ohhh, I also brought some offerings from these Gentiles to the help with the movement.
He then pulls out a big bag of money and lays it on the table, while saying, I will continue to send a major portion of the offerings I collect from the Gentiles I preach to, back here to you.
James and his people huddle up and discuss the matter.
James then says, OK, you can preach the Jesus movement to the Gentiles and they can be a part of the movement without becoming Jewish and following Jewish law, BUT, they have to get circumcised.
That way, we know they are serious.
Now that is a fairly simplistic way of telling the story, but those are the facts.
So even then we can see that what is "God's law", can be changed, if the reason for changing it is important enough to those in charge of saying what "God's law" is.
