Hello all,

I want you to think about something as you kiss your child good night and put them to bed. What has happened to our expectations? Here is what I mean. Years ago, we as kids, wanted to be Doctors, Astronauts, Police Officers, Teachers and the like. We had HIGH expectations. It seems as if now we just want to make it in today's world. I DON'T. I still have those high expectations. People say it will take 20-30 years for the real estate market to come back in our district. I DON'T believe that for a second. Why? I have high expectations. If the market went in the tank in just a couple of years why can't it COME BACK in that quick of time? Think about that for just a second. Horrible planning and policy led to the destruction of the market. Can't an equally great plan and GREAT policy bring it back? Not if YOU DON'T BELIEVE it can. YES, if you believe it can. I KNOW we have the talent to fix things right here in this district. I have those high expectations of you. My question is, "What are your expectations?". I promise you that I will get you fired up and WE will do great things. Will you raise your expectations and believe in yourself, friends and family. I do!

If you agree with me share this GOOD news with your friends and family and for a few minutes let's forget about the bad.

i don't see how you can fix this.. Sure I would like all parents to take aan interest in their spawns and set high expectations in them/with them and instill a good family value.

I do not see how you personally can fix this without having super nanny in all those families that don't have this kind of relationship..sad but true

I am blessed with a great kid but I started with values at an early age. She does want to go to college and be in Music Management other kids want to be strippers or playboy bunnies

I do like your dream..it sounds wonderful and I want to believe in it but ... we will always have "those" people ...yet another sad but true statement
 
But Sadie, if we can get "those" people out of office, then we can work to fix the mess.

I am the son of two orphans. My Father came out with the first ATM in N.C. I can show you the FIRST ATM card for BBand T bank, because, my Dad IMPLEMENTED the ATM in NC. He asked me, "Do you think anyone will like getting money from a machine?". Today, the answer is obvious, but then, the answer was unclear. We need to have the courage to take reasonable risks. Do you have the courage to believe in yourself. I have had the opportunity to meet Generals, business leaders and the like and I am certain that our people can compete at a high level if they are given the information that they need. The question is, do you believe in yourself? It does not do me any good to believe in you if you don't.

Maybe, I just need your vote. Maybe, I am telling you the truth. Which is it? I don't need a vote that bad. Think about what I am saying. Pray about it and you will find that you are more than good
enough. I have led two Army units to National Unit of The Year Awards, because, they started to believe/know in themselves.

If you don't believe any thing that I have said I will prove it to you. I can show you the card. I can show you the awards. Is it so crazy that someone can tell people GOOD things about them instead of focusing on the bad? What could happen if people raised their expectations?

Want to fix the housing market? Repeal the Frank-Dodd Act for starters.....after repealing Obummer from office!

But sadly, we may not be half way thru this foreclosure mess.
 
I guess I'm a lot more optimistic. The economy in my area is quite good, but remember it goes in cycles. A few years ago I bought a really nice house for $10,000. Entire school districts were shutting down left and right, towns were emptying out, and young people were bailing out of North Dakota. People accepted it as the way of the world and believed that the state would empty out and become a "Buffalo Commons." A few years later (now) and the complaint is that people are moving in, house prices are too high, and schools are being forced to build and hire new teachers with nowhere to house them.

I also know that every generation seems to think that the next one will ruin things. This is as old a complaint as written history, and probably went on before. I imagine cavemen complained that their children would pull things on wheels rather than on sledges and never understand real work.

Every year, I see my students mature and become adults while new students come in and I nearly despair that they will ever grow up. Strangely, most of them do grow up. A few don't, but it has always been this way. When we start telling kids that they're not good enough, smart enough, hard-working enough or whatever, we give them the excuse to be less. If we keep telling them that they are important and that they are the next generation, they will disappoint us often, but in the long run they will rise to our expectations.

Listen, it sounds like your confidence is high. Unfortunately, most folks are scared right now. I want to make sure people know we CAN get on the right track, quickly. We will turn this around.

JK I truly admire your optimism, however; it's gonna take more than you and Sadie. Quit dancing around the issues and tell us how YOU are going let us help YOU fix it. :)

First of all people have to have confidence in themselves. Right now they believe tomorrow will be worse than today. Do you agree with that assessment that people are fearful? It does not have to be true! Next, we have to have one way forward. Right now we are a bottle floating around in the ocean.
We have to sell all of our distressed properties...listen...irregardless of what the incompetent fed does. They control...stop...I can't control the fed. We can't control the fed. With that said we need to do what we need to do to get rid of the distressed property no matter what the fed does. I have confidence in (Winchester) you...more so than the fed. (federal reserve). I can't control them, but, I can provide leadership from you. Once we show the fed that you DONt need them, we have answers WITHOUt the fed then they will listen. Yeah right..Seriously they dont have the answers and our agents do. Yes. Your friends can be as smart as the Feds or better. YES, they can. Believe in the people. Believe in yourself. You are not the problem. You are the solution. Soon, I will show you that you will fix these issues. Please, stop and think
..do you really think the smart people are smarter than you...well, they are not.

Interestingly enough N.D. Has micro fracturing now...oil drilling. McDonald workers are making $25 an hour. Things can change quickly, like they have in N.D. People need to believe in themselves. Things can change quickly. You are right!

exactly..the only thing I know is his grandfather had the 1st ATM in NC and something about bottles in the ocean.

there has not been one post as of yet that was direct and straight to the point
 
Um, I have never ever been accused of not having confidence in myself. I sort of know where I came from and where I'm at, age has a way of making you very aware. ;D
 
You are confused because I have not done a good job communicating. That is my fault not yours. McDonalds is paying $25 an hour because as soon as the oil company figured they had a gold mine they paid the workers way more than $25 an hour. The problem then became they did not have housing etc, so, their employees started sleeping in their trucks. Realizing their employees were not getting adequate rest to maximize thie labor potential they then started doing what they could to import housing etc. The point being N.D. went from a state no one wanted to go to, to a state everyone wanted to go to overnight. Right now the state of North Dakota basically has a 0% unemployment rate when you subtract those that can't work due to disability etc. What I am trying to say is things can to from bad to good as quickly as it went from good bad.

anyway i just feel like you talk in circles and after I read your post I just have the "huh" look

I like randomness a lot ...just not in politics

in politics I like forward and straight to the point, no fluff or lolly gagging

Just remember it isn't how many words you use it is the actions taken from those words
