Once again we are vilifying an entire religion because of the act of a few. The man is a horrible person for hitting children like that (and how do you know it is because the did not remember the phrase?) and unfortunately in many religions hitting a child is okay. Nuns still do it, many schools have corporal punishment, African Christians torture children that are "possessed". My point is it is NOT okay to hit, but that it is always about Islam and how bad they are....yes, there are some that are horrible, evil people that hide behind their religious interpretation, but once again, all that follow Islam are not bad people, and do consider their religion one of peace.

Or I can talk to family and friends that do practice peaceful Islam.
See that is the point Win. There are two sides to this. I know that there is evil in all religions. I know that all that practice Islam are not good, but that the ones that are not good do not represent all. Just as all that practice.................fill in the blank are not evil and all are not good.

I remember as a kid, a common defense when getting in trouble was to use the phrase "well she did it too". It was used to deflect dealing with the bigger problem. I grew out of that and started placing blame accordingly as I saw it. At least now, issues can be addressed and fixed properly. Many politicians still use the first example.

According to Pew Research, 6% of American Muslims and 7% of Muslims worldwide believe that it is OK to kill an infidel for insulting Islam. Apologists will use this to point out that not "all" of Islam is bad. But comparing this to other major religions, brings this into perspective.
There are 40 members of Westboro. There are 3.3 million Muslims in the US, 198,000 of whom wouldn't bat an eye if you were killed in the name of their religion. If you don't see that as a problem inherent in modern Islam, then you are kidding yourself.

MEANING, no one has said that there are no issues with some of those that practice Islam.
But, yes, 100 or 1,000 is still some of those that practice. Some is a portion of all, but not all.

I did not say that anyone (in this thread) said all Muslims are bad. I did say that once again we are vilifying an entire religion (the religion of peace is considered Islam, Islam is the religion. Not all Muslims practice Islam.) because the title was sarcasm in saying "It's all in the name of peace. Yeah, whatever..."Who said ALL Muslims are bad people ? ? ?
