It\'s happening in the hood...

LisaC

I'm here to spin the moral compass.
We have had a couple of break-ins in our neighborhood recently, the most recent ones happening when a woman answered the front door, someone came in her back door. Tonight, there is an SUV parked just down from our house on a dark section of the street. A neighbor called the cops. An empty house was searched and it appears that someone had been inside. And now, another neighbor has since chased a guy off of his front porch and now we have four popos parked by the SUV and searching the woods. Someone else called the cops on the guy that chased the guy off his porch - he was walking down the road in his shorts carrying a gun.

This sister has to go to work tomorrow - they need to hurry up and find this numnut.

That's crazy ... Everyone should be able to live in peace and not worry about stupid people

He deserves it. Daily. We have been slacking...make him cry Mei Lan! :))

I know, but I can't do everything. I've been busy with this move crap, and some of my regular duties are falling through the cracks.

Well, go ahead and schedule in a small daily slot for "making GD cry" you do not need much time. :)) How is moving going?

I'll work on it. He does seem to have gotten a bit complacent lately. Mayhap I'll confab with UM and see if we can't come up with something that will fit the need of the situation. :D

RE: move - well, it's coming. This isn't a regular move in that we don't have to be out of here and into another place all in one day. We already have the rental, so we have been doing some stuff to get it ready (paint, etc.), and getting things here ready to move. Then Christmas kinda butted into the schedule. Add to that, we are not real on-fire people about stuff like this. My SIL moved from a 4BR/3BA house to a 5BR/5BA house and had everything packed in a week, and unpacked in a week. I wish I were more like that, but alas...I am more like a sloth than her. :( But we're about ready to move most of the stuff; then we'll make necessary repairs/changes here and put it on the market. We're leaving some furniture in a couple of rooms for staging, so that will be moved later. I'll be glad to have it over with. DANG if you don't accumulate a lot of...just...stuff. GAH!!!

We are LOVING the rental house. The neighorhood is one of the oldest in Rome, and has a historic certification/whatever. The people are so nice, and of course, living there for years, we find that we already know four of our neighbors. Wait - five...I forgot about a girl I went to HS with who is now a dr. who lives there. :)

You should focus on your own sins instead of his and just love the guy.

This was going on after 11:30 last night and I was up until after 1:00 a.m. so I wasn't the least bit worried about anyone's sins - I was worried about what was going to happen if the guy running around with the gun caught up with the guy in the SUV (or worse, what happened if he ran across another neighbor). The SUV was towed and the cops spent the night in our subdivision waiting for the guy to come out of the woods. I don't know if he ever did, but the popo were gone this morning.

I'm resisting the urge to call you an idiot or a moron, but that's only because I've got Starbucks this morning...

Tis the season to be stealing!

Maybe if more residents ran around the neighborhood with guns, this "numnut" would get the message and stay away! Make it easy for criminals and they will return time after time.

True, but there was a point where no one knew that the guy running around with the gun was a neighbor and that the numnut was trying to break into his house. I'm hoping the numnut has gotten the message and is long gone, but I would really prefer that he is arrested and just doesn't move on to another neighborhood.
