The Fourth Of July is a very big deal at our house: family, friends, fireworks, food, fun.


I start setting out food and drinks around noon for all of the friends
and hungry neighbors who wander in and out of my kitchen all day.


This years menu starts with lunch : fruit and veggie trays, corny dip & salsa with various chips, grilled hot dogs.


And then dinner: BBQ spare ribs, cowboy beans, pasta salad.


Root Beer floats in frosty mugs for the big fireworks show ! ! !

Yay! So fun - I wish my neighborhood was like that.

We are about to head to my girlfriend's house for BBQ, hotdogs, pasta salad, and all the fixins'. I'm taking brownies and potato salad. (I made 5lbs, I hope it's enough. :)) ) She has a water slide for the kiddos, and frosty beverages for the adults to keep cool. Fireworks after dark.

So exciting!!
 
Sounds great!

We enjoyed some excellent ribs my oldest son did. He cooked the majority the traditional way, with a dry rub. He also put a couple of racks into a new wet smoker. They were all excellent!
