I'll play devil's advocate here...

My son was telling me all about this yesterday. What I heard :blahblah::blahblah::blahblah::blahblah::blahblah: He talks so much politics I tune out. :cheesy: (as long as I say uh huh ever once in a while he seems happy) Anyhoo...apparently it was covered on the news somewhere......
Hope he stays with it. Lord knows we need some new blood in politics.

That's hilarious. I'm mean, "uh huh."

A Civics lesson which should have everyone's attention but is flying pretty much under the radar other than a few quick snippets.

“Spain is living through a sad day,” Rajoy said. “We believe it is urgent to listen to Catalan citizens, to all of them, so that they can decide their future and nobody can act outside the law on their behalf.”

Evidently listening only applies if citizens are saying what the government wants to hear. They overwhelmingly voted for independence but because the Catalan region holds much of the country's economic activity Spain has declared the vote illegal and has dismissed the area President and Parliament while scheduling new elections.

Where is the media coverage? Or that of Venezuela where they're also experiencing national turmoil?

It is an exercise of government control on many different levels.

If a relationship is truly consensual, it must contain the right to dissolution. This truth is universal in every aspect of life except matters of the state. Without this right, it is more accurately called a conquest.
