I think we dodged the bullet

Storms just now hitting Decatur but it looks like the worst at the moment is south of I-20.

Hoping the rain slacked off a bit before hitting the Athens area.

Oldest just had sod laid down in his yard. Going to be messy ...

And meanwhile, back in Music City ... chance of snow flurries tonight!

The weather folks got carried away with their forecasts... which is probably a good thing... as it gets folks to pay attention.

On the near NE side of town, we got by with rain... not even a lot of wind.
I have some small tree limbs to pick up... and those dreaded gumball trees (sweetgum) have cluttered the front yard again (I should not complain... they have good roots).

All in all, the storm was not as bad as it could have been... thanks to the One that protects His kids (and others also).

Wonder if we are gonna get a few more storms this Spring???

I wouldn't say they got carried away, there were three confirmed tornadoes so far. We were fortunate that the warm front was about an hour behind the storms this time. It could have been much worse, just look at Jacksonville AL only 60 miles west of us. That was what we were supposed to have.

Yeah... it could have been much worse!

I remember the tornadoes of the Spring of 1998...

The previous fall, I had moved from an apartment to my current home...
Went back to look at the damage of the tornadoes...

The specific apartment I used to live in... was totally demolished!
The concrete block separating wall... had fallen down onto where my bed used to be... with such force, it took out the floor and it all landed on the bed in the apartment below.
Somewhere, I have a picture of that room...

Scary, yet I am thankful I was not there!
