got a cpu question

ok i just reformatted my xp cpu desktop
1. installed my wireless adapter for internet connection it installed just fine it even let me type the (wpa key) now it is saying it cannot associate with the access point it wont even let me repair the connection it is also saying bad IP address

any help ray ray ray ray ray

1. I'm assuming you already did a re-boot?
2. Download the latest driver for the card?
3. Do a web search for that problem with that card?
4. Uninstall the driver. Power down the system. Remove the card. Power back-up. Install the driver. Power down the system. Install the card. Power up the system, see if it loads the driver.

Yeah I suspect a bad driver as well. XP is not good at having the best latest drivers on a rebuild. It may not even have the drivers for the normal wired card either. I know this is after the fact but you should always download drivers before ever reloading the operating system on a PC or laptop. Do you have any other PC?

nope the xp is the onlyone i have besides my laptop
