I just got really excited!!!!

I have sailed with Carnival (2 times), Royal Caribbean(2 times and NEVER AGAIN) and Celebrity

Celebrity was my fave but Carnival is awesome too...however if you do the short 3 and 4 day cruises to cheap near by places you can get into some people of walmart aliens

I will be scouting for a christian cruise sooooooooo that means I CAN PLAY!!!! then check out ports of calls and other things. I CAN NOT WAIT

Interesting, it seems a lot of it is personal taste. I suspect it has a lot to do with what you want out of it too. I know Carnival has a rep for being party boats, and I can see why as there was fun stuff going on 24/7 on our boat. And the excursion we went on was a "booze cruise", most were poop faced by the time we got back. But in a fun way, I will add.

Ours was an 8 day cruise. By and large, the other passengers were very nice and seemed to be of some means. I don't say that to sound snooty, my comment is in response to the WalMart mention above. There was one woman who came into the piano bar that I found crude and classless. Other than that, it seemed like a good group of folks.

We might try Royal at some point. We saw their "Oasis Of The Sea" while in Fort Laud. OMG, what a monster of a boat!! But I hope it's nicer on board than from the outside because it looked very plain and battleship grey.

But I have to say, we had an awesome time and I feel like Carnival treated us very well. They have almost 1.3 staff members for every 3 passengers on the boat, so that's a pretty impressive ratio.

GD, we are not knocking you. You don't have to defend Carnival. :) We are glad you had an awesome time!!!!! After you sail another line we will ask again. Maybe your opinion will not change or maybe it will be like others experience and be that the other lines are just a little nicer in areas. Start looking for another cruise now, we can't wait forever to have the question answered! :))

Oh I didn't take it that way, but I do think it only fair that I give Carnival credit for this cruise being great. I know that they have fallen under the gun lately and deservedly so. But on this occasion, they did a great job, so giving credit where credit's due.

Maybe their recent problems taught them something.

Um, your reply should have been, "I will start looking now for a cruise to book." (and I am generously going to take all of you with me!) ;D

I'm fully expecting my next one to be paid for by the drivers on Dallas Hwy to lovingly thank me for my admin services. ;D

like I said the carnivals were awesome and I was scared at 1st too from some of the "party" comments. I was told if I do not want that to stay away from the 3 and 4 day cruises. I am excitedto be going on Carnival again in Sept.

There is some logic in that. Going to the longer cruises will weed out certain elements.
