I AM THE MAN!!! Oh yeah! I was able to put up a tilting TV mount in our bedroom and a small glass shelf for the DirecTV receiver! See the attached picture for proof. I still have to do something about the cables and then it will be 100% awesome!

:thumbsup :firstplace :CLAP

Great Job! Those are not easy...especially if you do it alone :BH I have to buy another mount for my Dallas Hwy garage in the coming weeks and move the TV from the screen porch for the winter.

If you can't run the cable through the wall, I know they sell something similar to a strip cover you can run down the wall and paint it the same color as the wall. It's not 100% invisible, but it's the next best thing. ;D

Nice.

Now what do you do when you want to change around the furniture and can no longer see the tv. :snick_bunny (<<<< reason given to me for no tv mounting in my home. :)) )

I'm just glad they make flat screens now. My Dad worked for RCA in Ohio and they had a family store in the plant. I recall him telling me (This was in the 70's) that one day, they would be making TVs that you could hang on the wall like a picture. I thought, REALLY? COOL! 8)

The last 30 some-odd inch box TV we had ended up in Daughter Colson's room. When we moved it....or should I say....when I moved it out, it about broke my back! :'( It was SO heavy, it really should have taken 3 men and 2 boys to move it. :BH

It is amazing how thin and light tv's are! The old ones took up soooooo much space!

Soooo, I am the last to have all 'old style' TV's?
Not all are hooked up, but we have 5 TV's and all are the 'old style'.

Nope! You're in good company though. :hiya

I hope this isn't too much of a hijack.
Back in 1996 my brother gave our parents a really nice 36" Sony tv.
They had never had a really nice tv with all the bells and whistles.
I stopped by one day and they were watching tv with the French Closed Caption on.
I asked them why they had the CC on and my mother said; A couple of weeks ago it just started having all that gibberish on it.
I told her that it was French CC and that somehow they had turned it on.
My mother to this day swears they did nothing to cause the CC to be turned on and the tv "just did it on it's own".
But then again, they had taped the following on the remote; on/off, volume, channel.
