I have an Avocado addiction

and a neighbor who enables me. He keeps bringing me avocados. I can't stop eating them.

Do you like Avocados? What do you do with them?

Mrs. Mac and I love them! On salads, as a side, make guacamole, on a bison burger, pretty much any excuse to eat one.

Biggest problem - they run about $1.50 each on average up here. :faint
 
Love, love, love avocados!! :love Like Mac, anywhere I can put them I'll eat them. I've been known to eat at least one a day, just by itself. :D
 
I've just been making Guac everyday (with lime, cilantro and red onion). I never really cared for them before moving here. It's a texture thing. But I'm willing to try different things. So you guys just slice 'em up and eat it? I did make a Chicken Mango avocado salad that was pretty good. Too much work though.

I've learned to appreciate avocados, and eat them in salads but not any other way. Does that count?
 
My wife is a huge avocado lover.
(and if I ever find Avocado, I'm going to give him a whupping he will never forget)

Anyway, she makes some great guac, she was going to make some for Sungoddess' party, but....well.....that required doing something in the kitchen and she is on strike at the moment.

It's my daily lunch/siesta (late afternoon) taste treat. Takes just a moment or two to make and fills me up. I try not to eat it with chips to keep it healthy. I haven't figured out an alternative guacamole delivery technique yet other than spoon which is no fun.

Fresh guacamole is what changed me. They also have a ton of flavor when freshly picked. So it's not just flavorless, green mush.

Texture of food kills me. I have a few, okay a lot (someone would have commented :)) ) of issues with food texture.
 
With some translation assistance, I have found out *why* I'm now addicted to avocados (aguacates here). Our neighbor, I'll call him Señor Enabler, brings me MORE avocados today and keeps saying "tres días, tres días". Huh? He had seen me earlier eating my daily lunch of Guacamole so I was a tad confused as to why he kept saying "three days, three days". Turns out that this is Costa Rican avocado season. They are perfect for eating three days after being picked. Señor Enabler picks these avocados for us, keeps them for three days, and then brings them to us in a perfectly ripe state. The lady who works at the lawyers office across the street, who assisted with the translation, is going to bring me one tomorrow. She says it's the largest one she's ever gotten from her tree. Have I mentioned before that I LOVE Ticos? They are the coolest, sweetest people ever.
