I Have a Favor to Ask of You........

I have a favor to ask of my dallashwy.com friends. Will you please vote in the run-off election this Tuesday, August 21, 2012 and consider voting for my friend, Bill Carruth? As most of you know, Bill Carruth is running against Bill Heath for the 31st District Senate seat.

I have known Bill, his wife Laura and his Mother, Jerri for about 25 years now and I can say without reservation that they are great people and that they love our community and District! I have weighed the pros and cons on each of the candidates and while I understand there is not a perfect candidate out there, I believe Bill Carruth is the better person for the job.
The person elected to this position will have influence on decisions that greatly affect our lives and after taking everything into consideration on both candidates, I trust Bill Carruth to make better decisions for the residents of Paulding County and the District. I feel Bill Carruth will listen to the people he represents and make our concerns his top priority.

Voter turnout will probably be low on Tuesday so EVERY vote will count in this election. Thank you for taking time to read this and I hope each and every one of you have a good week!

I'm not in the district, but I encourage everyone to get out and vote. Voter turnout is going to be extremely low so every vote will count!

I'll most likely vote for him because I've never thought Heath did much for Paulding County. Besides that, I find Heath to have the personality of a stick.

Sorry BB... I am sitting this one out.
Not a problem honeybunny. Doesn't change my opinion of you - I still think you are a wonderful, intelligent person (and a great little Mommy to that precious baby of yours)! :)

Girl, you know I love ya :love but this is one thing I can not do. As I've stated a few times, the things he did to Terri and I at a Chamber meeting was inexcusable and unforgivable for a public official. And well, I just know way too much about him.

I would love to see Heath replaced but I also have to sit this one out. This is way beyond "the lesser of two evils". :pray

I still love and respect you too (and that beautiful, sweet wife of yours). :)

I don't like the idea of not voting - just because you don't like either choice doesn't mean you can evaluate which of the two will be the most favorable for Paulding. Come on y'all - sit down tonight and look at what both candidates have to offer, pick the one that you believe will do the best job (regardless of how you feel about them), and go vote.

My gut tells me that the more folks who sit this one out, the more likely it is a win for Heath. What a terrible place to be in.

I agree. I've been doing this for the last several days. I already know what kind of job Heath has been doing for us as a state senator and I'm not impressed. I have not seen any benefits to the district, especially Paulding County with him in office. I think it's time for a change. I wasn't here when Carruth was on the BoC and I've never met him, so I really have no firsthand knowledge or experience with him as a person or elected official.

What I do know is this; we can vote Heath out and if Carruth does not perform as expected, we can encourage JK Roger to run again.

Here's my take. Both candidates are a little snakey, I don't "like" either one. However I do know that Bill Carruth and his family love Paulding County and will always do what's best for it. It will be first and foremost over Atlanta and it's surrounding counties. While I don't "support" Carruth, I will be voting for him because I have yet to see anything Heath has done to benefit our community. He's never "gone to bat" for the folks in Paulding, the reservoir comes to mind.

Not voting is indeed a vote for Heath, I must trust that Carruth will do the right thing for us, yes it's hard. Carruth has been working behind the scenes for years for the people of Paulding. I'l give him this chance to show me I'm right. If I'm wrong, he won't be getting my vote again.

As (I hope) most of you know, I'm Christian. But, I swear! If I get ONE more flier with Bill Heath invoking the God I worship on one side and lying on the other I think my head is going to start spinning!!! :BH

I don't like it either but I've already stated my opinion and I'll stand it. My silent vote will be for Heath then.

Don't ever let your vote be silence!!!

Not voting is not voting... and for the very first time I am not voting tomorrow.

Y'all can have this one cause I really don't care either way... total apathy here.

I have to vote tomorrow because we have the sheriff run off to vote on. It is VERY important, to me, that one particular candidate wins over the other. As far as Heath vs Carruth go...I'm leaning Carruth, but only because I detest the thought of Heath getting the win.

I voted for Heath last week. He is not evil or the lesser of two as some say. It is completely false and non-sense and I detest seeing and hearing that.

I also get tired of hearing what has he done for Paulding. Well you know, some in Haralson say the same thing. Well I have news for you all...District 31 covers 3 counties, not just one and no one county is above the other two. So now some of you will vote for Carruth so if he wins you'll be thinking, hey he's a county boy...well now Haralson and Polk will be asking, "What is Carruth doing for us now?"

Throwing out a Conservative is just plain wrong because of agendas. And yes, I said agendas...began elsewhere...I call it as I see and read it...and how many times has Carruth ever step foot in any of the local GOP meetings, etc. in the past 5 years? Once and that is only because he is running and even that, he attended zero debates besides the forum in June at the Chamber...he missed all of the GOP meetings except for one since Jan 1 and never attended before that. Heath rarely has missed any meetings, including Haralson and Poke and is involved more than you think like money he has given to the PCHS football as an example.

One needs to think of the whole picture instead of using their emotions as their guide. Emotions were done already in 2008 at the national level and look what we got.

Republicans vote out RINOs and corrupt politicans, not Conservatives. Heath is a conservative and not corrupt in any fashion.
