He doesn't, but the US Attorney General and the FBI Director serve at the pleasure of the president. What Biden did by his own admission, was a violation of the law and an abuse of power. Who can fault a president for wanting to see a legitimate crime investigated?
 
Not really, all the president can do is fire them, as he did with Comey.

Bill Barr didn't do half the stuff Trump wanted.

Half the stuff Trump wanted him to do was not ethical. The president has complete oversight of them. It wouldn't be improper for a president to have an investigation conducted on a former vice-president who bragged in front of an audience how he forced a country to fire a prosecutor before he would release a billion dollars to them.
 
This goes to the point I was making in the other thread. The evidence against Biden is far worse and more serious than anything Trump is being charged with.

If the Republicans in the House were as smart as they think they are, they could nail him. That's the problem.
