House shuts down Russia - Trump investigation

IMO...

The lust for power is as great as any lust mankind has ever struggled with.

Ironically, I have tried to give up some power for the last few years.

I've never yearned for power, it just seems to find me. I own a couple of businesses, been a pretty important leader in a couple of churches and headed some power committees, a mod or admin on three different forums, lots of other various committees and groups I'm involved in, I write for a couple of blogs and oddly I have a following. I was contacted last week from a local group wanting me to run for public office. I was contacted last week by a local group wanting me to run for public office.

I'm at the point in life to where I'd like to start fading away some, but I don't seem to do that well.

Pubby reached out to you? :D
Not exactly...

And I declined. Too old and too busy.

I had a big opportunity to get into politics about 25 years ago, but I passed because I needed to make a living and support my family.

IMO... If folks allowed power to come to them... rather than fall into lusting for it...
Power might be handled in a more professional and less destructive way.

I cannot help but think some folks have better management skills than others...
And they just seem to handle running things better.
IMO the problem comes when the peter principle happens; a person takes on a job larger than themselves. Seems whether the person is promoted into that job, or self-promotes into that job, is irrelevant...
Then the person either screws up all the time... or learns how to play polecat...
Which we all know is destructive.

So... could we deduct from logic... that most polecats are in over their heads... according to the peter principle???

Yeah, I've been asked twice. My answer was that I grew up in the 70's. Do you know what I did back in the 70's? No, I'm serious, if you know, PM me, because I'm clueless.

But seriously, politics has gotten so nasty lately, even local politics, that there is no way I would run. The crap that people sling is just beyond unreasonable.

It's pretty sad to see how the staunch followers of the left believe the lie their political party started two days after the election to create an excuse for Clinton's loss.
