I've been on a mission to create our own homemade hot cocoa mix. I had powered sugar, Hershey's cocoa and powered milk (which has gotten REALLY expensive, btw). My first go, the kids didn't like. Too much of an unsweetened cocoa taste and (apparently) not enough sugar. I had subbed my powered sugar (for easier mixing) for the sugar in the recipe. Well, as I found out, you can't simply substitute powdered sugar for white sugar (multiply by 1.75 for future reference for those who may wonder).
