I love banana bread! I use Paula Deen's recipe and it's fabulous!

I am using Cook's Country recipe. I never heard about microwaving whole bananas before this

Yea, well, I'm not so sure about zapping bananas. :p

Funny, when I saw the bags of ripe bananas at the store the other day I was thinking it was about time to make some nanner bread. Love that stuff when it is made right.

Is nuking them just making them really ripe?

No, you need really ripe bananas to start. I think the reason to nuke is to get the liquid out of the bananas and also makes them easy to mash. Like I said earlier, it ain't a pretty site but dang sure blends in well

I found some ripe bananas in the grocery store today. I inquired with the produce dude about a discount, since they were ripe. I got 7 for $.81

:thumbsup Good deal.

One of our local grocery stores sells bags of ripe nanners super cheap. I think it is Ingles. Not sure if you have them there ... I don't know where all they have stores.

I have watched that show on pbs and watched them do that recipe. Getting as much water out of the bananas makes sense. I tend to trust their recipes more than ones I just find on the internet. I know they test the dickens out of them.

Thanks for confirming that. I was feeling like a couple of folks here thought I had lost my marbles talking about nuking bananas. :laugh
