Here we go again... Russia, Russia, Russia...

If Trump is elected, I bet Trump attempts to "persuade" Ukraine to give up their eastern lands and shoreline to Russia in exchange for peace.

He would also be putting a stop to a senseless war. And, by the way, hopefully he keeps NATO away from Russia’s border to prevent future senseless wars.
It's amazing how you can justify screwing over a country to benefit another. What if Russia decided it wanted more?

Sounds like you need to complete your homework assignment on Ukraine, NATO, and the longstanding agreement with Russia.

Russia is not our friend. They are a super power run by ex KGB officials who remember well the USSR and would like nothing better than to establish the old Soviet Union. Given an inch they will take two miles. I really don't have a stake in Ukraine and I don't like sending them billions of dollars. The end game for the USA is balance of power and sword rattling. We cannot look weak or non committed to allies. The Russians and Chinese will see the soft white underbelly and push even harder for their concerns world wide. The rest of the worlds aggressors watch the US very closely including Islamic fanatics. None of us put the USA in the role of being the worlds protector but had you rather have communists or fanatics calling the shots? The Berlin wall and the USSR fell because the Reagan administration bankrupted them trying to keep up with us militarily. It is a very high stakes poker game. It would set a very bad standard if peace was achieved by placating the aggressor by giving them what they want.

We can veto Ukraine's application to be a member of NATO, which we should because their government is corrupt. However, their government corruption is no reason to take land away from them and give it to Russia.

All of that might be true.

However, Russia gave us Anna Kournikova, so I'd cut them some slack.

We're not giving them anything, they took it, but only after numerous warnings. The warnings were ignored and NATO (and the U.S.) kept poking the bear until it bit.
