Going to make Fig/strawberry preserves tomorrow

With figs and strawberry jello.............any tips, hints or ideas would be appreciated.

My grandma use to give me a quart jar every time we visited. They were sooo good!

Wow sounds great! I've never heard of using jello in preserves. Interesting.

It's supposed to taste more like strawberry preserves than fig preserves. I'll let y'all know how it turns out. mei_lan, you can come get figs...........the bushes are loaded. If we had some more rain they'd be bigger. These aren't too bad but we've had them much bigger when the rain was better.

Got 9 pints, 3 strawberry with splenda and 3 raspberry with spenda (for hubby's diabetes) and 3 regular strawberry for the grandson and his uncle. Should have cooked the splenda one's longer, it made me nervous.

All way too sweet for me!!
