Gift Ideas Needed

ShoeDiva

Shoes!!!!
I always am stuck on gift ideas for the in-laws, and not only do I have to do a Christmas gift for them, my MIL's birthday is in December too. :faint So if any of you have unique gift ideas for in-laws that have everything I would love to hear them.

(Both in their 60's, both retired, travel extensively, she sews, he golfs. They buy what they want, when they want and since last Christmas/birthday I have not heard one "I need this" for me to write down and get!)

For him, make up a "package" of stuff. Good golf balls, golf cap, golf glove, ask someone at the PGA Store near Town Center Mall and they will help you put something together.
For her, coupons.

:spitchick

They live on a golf course, there is nothing he does not have for golf. (We got him the newest and latest GPS device for golfing last year and dang if he had not seen it earlier in the month and bought it. :BH )
Coupons?

Any ideas that are unique or out of the box?

I hear tassles are the must have item of the season. :whistle

Can you explain their proper use?

For tassles? You don't have tassles hold your curtains open? Maybe you call them something else? :angel

I am not loving the tassels on the purses this year. Some are just too big!

Last Christmas I gave my wife coupons for "hanky-panky" that I made up and printed.
They looked like real coupons and were done very tastefully.
She liked the gift.
Well she said she did, I am still waiting for her to redeem one.

(This suggestion for your in-law was in jest)

As far as the golf stuff goes, as an avid golfer, I can promise we can't have to much golf stuff.
("better golf thru more golf stuff" is our motto)
Even a gift card to a golf store is good, it would be like giving you a gift card to a shoe store.

As far as outside the box goes, I got nuttin.

I LOVE gift cards, unfortunately husbands family bans them. (seriously, you don't want to show up with gift cards) I will go with something golf if I can not figure out something else. :sigh:
MIL is sooooo hard with having to get two gifts! :faint

I really thought about the club of the month gifts. There are hundreds of clubs now, but they travel so much and we never know when they will be home so it really is not feasible.

True - they take away from the purse and just look tacky.

For your FIL - does he like to grill? I bought the hubby a great boxed grill set from Williams Sonoma a couple of years ago - he loves it. They also have some other great grilling tools.

MIL: Well, since we're on the subject - how about a purse??

This one is a big stretch, but check to see if you know someone that has Masters practice rounds tickets for sale. You may be able to snag them early, if you have a friend, but the actual tickets have not yet been mailed (just confirmations) - which is why you should only get them from someone you know and trust.

He does, but for his birthday he received a new grill and all the stuff. I am putting that on the list for my husband though. :CLAP

I bought her a purse last year, with a matching cell case, and wallet. I know we can not have too many :girlsaysno but she sticks with beige and black to carry. (I bought her the patent leather quilted red Coach stuff last year, gorgeous! I am not sure she has used it at all, but I did know she did not have red!)

How about a cashmere scarf and gloves? Also, look at Red Envelope online - they have some neat gift ideas, I've ordered for some hard to buy for people from there (men and women).

Is there a particular artist she, or he, really likes? Maybe a nice framed signed print?

No. They are not into art, museums, or cultural events.

That is a good idea for those that do like that!
