Getting there from China

So, I've been working on a webpage for my church (not yet ready for prime time). Anyway, I discovered how to embed a Google map. I was trying out directions from different places. Finally I tried Beijing, China.

For those who don't want to read through it, step 85 reads:

"Kayak across the Pacific Ocean"

It made me giggle. Centennial is tomorrow, but it looks like none of you can come: it's 28 hours from Atlanta, GA.

I will definitely update you. It has been on my mind all week to the point I have been unable to concentrate on anything else!

I just thought the China remark was funny. Google has several clever remarks for various overseas cities, so I'm getting cheap amusement.

I love people (and companies) with a sense of humor. That gives such a great word picture...kayaking up and down on the waves days and days and days across the ocean. And then what would you do for food? And water? And bodily functions? Yes, I have a weird imagination.

Update: the people who programmed the Atlantic Ocean countries don't have a sense of humor, at least where North Dakota is concerned. According to them, you can't get to my church.

I was amused by Adelaide, Australia. Apparently that trip involves ferry, toll roads, and a kayak!

I wish we could all make it Waski. It sounds wonderful. Although, if I were in China, I don't think I'd kayak the Pacific. :)) Did it mention how long that would take?

I read a wonderful book a few years ago (title and author escape me now...I'm notoriously bad about remembering those) about a girl who kayaked alone along the coast from Alaska to Washington. It really was fascinating.
