Lighthouse Food Pantry located at 294 W/I ( White Ingram) Parkway Dallas Ga. 30132 will be hosting the mobile food giveaway again on Aug. 23rd from 11am until 1pm. We are teaming up with the Atlanta Community Food Bank. Their rules are only two families per car. We just need you to sign your name, address, and county you are from. There is no income limit, and it does not matter what county you are from. It is open to everyone. For more information please call 678-363-7470. Here is a list of the dates we will have the mobile food giveaway for the 2012 year.
Aug. 23rd, Sept. 27th, Oct. 25th, Nov. 29th, and Dec. 20th. Please mark your calanders.

It's such a wonderful thing for those in need in our community. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
 
It is what we are called to do. Please copy and paste it on your FB walls. Print it and pass it out at your churches. The sad thing is you may have friends or family who will not tell you they need help. We have alot of people who come that need the food. But beg us not to tell anyone, they say my family would die if they knew we were here. We dont share with anyone who comes to get help. We are inspected once a year but they do not look through the individual files. So please pass the word all you can. You may never know this could be the answer to someones prayers.

Does anyone know if the school would allow us to send one of these home with the kids? A flyer about this. I think I tried it several years back and they would not allow it.

Charlie's Angel, I had a scout meeting last night and gave the information to Charli Kail, she helps with the back pack program in the schools. She gets the bakery products from Publix on Thursday and generally has a lot left over. She's going to get with you and see if you can use any.

She was tickled to know this program exists.
 
Awesome to you two. I sent a pm back to ya union mom. Just let me know how to get it to you.
And naturegirl that is great. Yes we could use any leftovers. We would be happy to get them. we have seen an increase of those needing help.

Also I am excited to announce we are extending the outreach. However it is in the start up state. Not ready for those in need yet. But we are collecting childrens clothes, shoes, baby items (not toys) but strollers, car seats, playpens, baby formula, diapers, shampoo, hair brushes, tampons, pads, coats. We are going to be able to reach into these places where battered women and abused children are. We are going to help them with the above items. But we got to get it set up first by having something to give them. So if anyone has these items and can donate them we would apperciate it. Not sure how long it will take to get this going where we can "Open it up" to those in need. But we are super excited. But yall just let me of Charlie know what we need to do for each of you from here. Thanks so much for caring about others and helping us get the word out more.
 
Let me know the number of flyers to print up and we can get them to yall somehow. Or if I know in time you can get them at the yard sale unionmom. Just let me know ok. They are nothing fancy just full of info.
 
I can get you some flyers. Did you get my email of it? The next date is coming up fast. Aug 23rd.
 
Totally forgot to get with you on this ... if you're ok with it, I'll take the info you already emailed me and make up a flier. Our Principal already said that, though it would be nice, you guys did not need to provide the fliers. Since I screwed up on this one and we're running out of time, we'll take care of them this go around. I'll get with you about fliers or paper or whatever for them before the next one.

I am also going to discuss with our PTA ladies about adding this to our calendar.
 
This event is happening tomorrow from 11am until 1pm. Please pass the word. And unionmom it will be next year before you need to pass out a new list. This list covers the rest of the year. So that should be good enough. Thanks so much

It went out to every student and we plan on doing a reminder for each one through year end. It is also going on our FB pages and web page.
 
AWESOME! We did have alot there today. We helped 317 families in 2 and half hours. Thanks for helping get the word out. I had one lady say why dont you advertise I had no idea you were here. I said I do we are on Facebook, Dallasy Hwy, Dallas New era, Immanuel Broadcasting, Craigslist. I said we have been here 5 years. People still dont know there is help for them in Paulding County. She said she just lived right behind us. But never knew we were there. What else can we do to get the word out? I am at a loss I thought I was trying to get it out but still these people have no idea we are there for them.

Are some of these people without internet access? Are there signs or handouts at the DFACS, WIC, Emergency help locations? Do you have a contact with the Board of Education? I would think that getting the info out to students that way would let all families in need with children know.
 
I know there was a lot of interest in the Ragsdale area and I am thrilled to have been able to help get the word out in that area. I plan to send out reminders when the next one gets closer.
