February School Break - Tell me what you are doing.

Shoes!!!!
I know many of you have children, are you going somewhere for the February break? We have nothing planned so far, but think we should do something since it is son's last February break. :( We have done Disney & Universal mostly on these breaks, but since Disney has so much construction going on we decided not to go there until it is done. Cruises are out because I won't do one that is less than 7 days (just my preference) and we don't have enough time for that.
I really want to do something different, within a few hours of here, but I am stuck for an idea on something we have not done. So, what are you doing, or do you have a good suggestion?

We were thinking the Disney thing too ... and also have decided to put it off. Figures, too ... we have a friend that can get us into the Disney parks at no charge except during very limited times during the year and our Spring break just barely falls in one of those times. :rant

No clue what we're going to do now.

Son was showing me pictures just last night of the new Beast Castle and the forest, and the new Mermaid area. We are Disney fanatics here and can not wait for it to be completed! They are fixing up the test track over in EPCOT too. Gosh that was needed!

I'm not a huge Disney gal simply because I don't like people very much and if there's one thing that is never in short supply at Disney, it's people.

We bought a Disney vacation back in September... So we are going to disney ... Hopefully this will be the last time for a long while lol

Okay, what's going on at Disney? We've been talking about it (because we can go and stay at my cousin's house for free :)) ) and only have to pay to park entry, etc.

I can understand free, but I have only stayed outside the park once and hated it. You miss out on some of the perks of staying in the park and the ease of going back and forth to your room which is huge with kiddos. (Plus by the time you get the free/discounted dining, rooms and sometimes a day added to your pass, it can be cheaper then staying outside, so check that) That being said a lot is undergoing renovations right now and we would rather wait until they are done to be able to see them. We have been so many times and love it, but since something new is happening we want to see that! :)

Sadie where are you staying?

For a day trip you could do snow mountain at stone mountain.
I am hoping for something for the week. We have done that before (fun) and the See the City passes with all the Atlanta attractions. (highly recommend if you have not done that. It is a great price to do everything!) See, I am stuck. :))

You didn't like my let me google that for you thingy? :'(

Well obviously there is the Biltmore and the Blue Ridge Parkway. There's a lot of other stuff to do and see in the are but I never had a chance to check any of it out. I was there for work.

Another possibility, if there are a lot of short trips in the area that you've wanted to do ... rent a small motor-home and hit the road. Knock out a bunch of "day trips" as a week long thing.

:coffeespit :laugh :laugh
Um, really now. Day trip ideas? I could possibly combine them to make a week long trip in a 4 or 5 star hotel!

There is a place that I can very highly recommend from personal experience but it's more than a few hours away.

linky-poo
That place looks awesome! I think that would be more of a getaway with just my husband. I saved the link!
