Fast Food...

I honestly do not eat fast food. I could not tell you the last time I have been to a fast food restaurant. :dunno: (At least what most consider fast food....Longhorn's, Macaroni Grill and other chain restaurants are pretty much "fast food" and I do go to them.)

Similar to SD, there are a few "chains" we will go to - Carraba's, Texas Roadhouse, Red Lobster (been a while, last couple of times not so good), Chili's, Red Robin
 
Because of those silly commercials, the Kiddo was begging me to take her to Steak and Shake (and Shave and Shoe Shine and Suit) all summer.

We had never been there before, but I thought it was pretty good.

The food was hot and fresh, and the shakes were delicious.

Good value for lunch.

How did you get a Shake???? Been there three times, ordered shakes all three times, and never got one!!!! Had to fight with the manager to get a refund!!
At one point, He actually told other customers that he didn't "want to hear any more complaints about Shakes,,, talk to your server"...
Never again!!!

I love Steak and Shake but customer service was awful the last couple times we went.
 
The Hiram Steak N Shake is horrible. Every visit there for us it takes 30 minutes for milkshakes and that long or longer to get your food. The waiter/waitress is usually pretty good but they get the brunt of the anger since they are the ones serving you. We go back once every few months hoping for a change and it NEVER changes. Just look on Facebook and Yelp and their reviews. It is like their corporate office does not care at all that this location constantly under performs.

Same experience. We'll never go back.
 
We do love our Steak & Shake, but y'all are right. You can't really call it fast food. We have taken to going in off hours like the afternoon happy hour.
