Family Feud

Definitely funerals. I've got some serious Alabama rednecks in my family - there was once a "discussion" at my uncle's funeral. The funeral had to be rescheduled because it conflicted with a NASCAR race in Talladega. Several family members who attended the race then wore their new NASCAR driver t-shirts (and their "good" jeans) to the funeral - apparently, supporting the wrong driver and wearing that t-shirt to a funeral is in bad taste. The out of town family sat inside with Uncle Willard (the deceased) while the rest of the family went outside to work things out.

PS: I stayed inside in case you weren't sure.

I didn't realize we were related!

Funerals. Seems there's always the bunch who are chomping at the bit to get part of the inheritance of possessions.

Ugly!

I have seen this on my Dad's side of family. I believed he died with a broken heart because of it. My siblings and I learned from this experience and I am so happy to say that none of that went on when my Mother passed. I have seen it in my husband's family. Greed, pure greed. So sad that is what a deceased' life means to some.

We recently saw a lot of this in a family we're close to. Some considerable wealth was involved...most of the kids didn't give a flip that their dad had died, they were just lined up for what they thought they would get.

Absolutely sickening!

But what they really got was a big surprise. Not much of anything. ;D

I love it when that happens! lol

Isn't that terrible??? When Grandma passed, her new husband took things such as my grandfather's KofC uniform and sword. He tried to sell it on eBay. He took slides of my grandparents' vacations, and tried to sell those on eBay. It was a terrible, Terrible mess.

My aunts set her up with this man, and then encouraged her to marry him... I won't go into that. Then they hired a lawyer they met on the Internet... also bad.

I can't even get into all that. :(
