Driving Pet Peeves

Pursuit Driver
I'd be here all day if I tried to put them all down at once but I'll at least get started.

- If you're pulling out into traffic with limited visibility that is NOT the time to be worried about gas mileage. Get on the gas and get up to speed!
- Turn signals ... they aren't just there to look pretty. Use them! (Your turn signal should be on before your brake lights are.)
- If you can't drive at night, don't.
- If you're lost/looking for an address/whatever be aware of your affect on traffic. If traffic is stacking up behind you, find a safe place to pull over and let them go by.
- Safe following distance ... learn it, use it. If I wanted somebody up my butt I'd call my proctologist.
- When it does actually snow around here ... clear all of the snow off of your vehicle before hitting the road, not just your windshield.

:rant :rant :rant :rant :rant My biggest complaint! I do not have the power to read your mind. Let me know what you are about to do!!!!

- 4-way stops are not advanced math problems. "1, 2, 3, then me." (Though you can go out of turn if your move doesn't impact other drivers.)

Question ... what is the most number of vehicles that can go at the same time at a 4-way stop?
[insert Jeopardy theme music]

The answer:

will be posted later ;D

I can't stand it when people fly through parking lots, not paying attention to pedestrians or other vehicles.

It really irritates me when people go UNDER the speed limit...I understand if it is weather or traffic related, but if there is no reason other that you feel like it, it bugs me!

I had a PCFD Supervisor scare me one day coming out of the Publix in New GA ... my little one and I were walking to my now deceased truck when he came flying through the parking lot, driving across the spaces. And for what? Only to meet up with some guys on a fire truck that was parked in the parking lot. There was no emergency of any kind. When I said something to him about it he got all pissy and said that he did nothing wrong. I really hate the attitudes of some in "public service" around here. (No, it isn't just here but I've run into more here than anywhere else.)

I had a similar experience in the Hiram Walmart parking lot. My kids and I were crossing the road to get to out cars when a lady flew around another car and into the handicap spot. She was no more that a foot and a half from hitting my son. When I confronted her, she said, "Oh, I guess I didn't see you guys." So I told her that maybe she should slow down and pay more attention. She then flipped me the bird and walked off.

Oh, don't even get me started on the mountain of issues that I have with people and handicapped spots.

Oh and by the way ...
- Sitting in your vehicle with the engine running does not mean you're ok in a "no parking" area.
- If you are being dropped off at the door of a business, hurry the heck up and get out of the vehicle ... you're blocking traffic.

Yes! Exactly!

Get the @#%& out of the left hand lane if you are going slower than the people in the right hand lane.

When on a 4 lane rd, DO NOT go the same speed as the car beside you when there is no traffic in front of you and cause traffic in BOTH lanes to back up.

RE: # of cars that can turn simultaneously at a 4-way stop - four? If they're all turning right? But I really don't know.

RE: handicapped parking - see image below.

RE: driving pet peeves - too numerous to count. My psychiatrist doesn't want me discussing topics like this because it'll undo the 17 years of therapy I've been through. Suffice it to say that I'm a Type A and a very good driver, and that 90% of the drivers around me are complete idiot morons. GAH!!!

One of my pet peeves is if your sitting in traffic backed up and some moron goes screaming down the right hand turn lane and then jerks over in front of other cars..that just gets all over me for some reason. Impatient people!

I hate school buses.
I hate people.
I hate 4 way stops.
I hate trying to get to I 75 from Dallas.
When turning left, pull up in the middle of the intersection. (hanging out behind the white line gets you nowhere)
I hate school buses.
Slow slow drivers.
Cars with no rear view mirror.
One bright headlight on. (fix the broke one stupid)
I hate school buses.
I can't stand a slow walking kid getting on the bus. (We should be able to slap them)

I hated when people parked in the car loop lane when the parking lot was only a few feet away

Yield means maybe stop, maybe not

why don't people understand how to drive ROUNDABOUTS... they are super easy

I hate getting stuck behind a police car because people feel like they have to drive 10 miles under the speed limit...act normal and carry on

I also dislike school buses

people who roll through stop signs

People who flick their BUTTS out the window. I think they should be held accountable to the littler law

just how does 1 shoe and your mattress end up on the side of the rd?

in a way kinda... I can always go to therapy

-When stopping behind another vehicle at a traffic light, you still need to leave proper spacing. If you can not see where their rear tires make contact with the road, you are too close. (multiple reasons for this rule)

-The exception to this rule ... if pulling up that last little bit will make it possible for the car behind you to make it into the turn lane, pull up.

-When stopping in traffic, do not block a road or active business entrance/exit. Leave a gap so that people can still get in/out.

If I have the green light and you are stopped at the red light, there is NO good reason for you to turn right in front of me when I have the right of way. YOU'LL GET YOUR TURN!
