Anyone know of a new application that may be able to read a crashed hard drive?

My laptop's hard drive crashed (multiple sector failures), corrupting the boot sector and Volume file. I purchased a docking station for SATA and IDE drives and it will see the drive but will not read anything on it. I have a lot of files that I need to recover off that hard drive.

I've even tried to do a repair function off the XP CD with no luck.

Anyone have any ideas?
 
I found something doing a Google search.

Never used them and not sure if their stuff even works. I just did a search for Hard Drive Recovery. If the drive has physical issues then a software recovery tool may not even be possible. Recovery then becomes very expensive.

I have nothing. http://www.pauldingnetworking.com/ has saved the data on at least 4 hard drives for me. :blush:
 
Something you could try.

Stick it in the freezer for a while (think a few hours).

Then pull it out and see if you can access anything.

Master Boot Record and Volume Record are already corrupted. I think it's pretty well toast with the help of a speciality lab that does data recovery. Way too expensive for me. :rant
 
I would be willing to try and get data off the drive for you. We can figure out a price later only if I can get anything off for you.
