Cracker Barrel Founder Dies...

I don't eat hashbrown casserole at Cracker Barrel (they put onions in it), but I made one for New Year's that was yummy!!

Grits (properly made) are the bomb diggity! (Waffle House doesn't count, no salt)

I love Cracker Barrel from time to time. I hope they are able to maintain the integrity.
 
There is a Flying Biscuit close to our office. The biscuits are yummy!! Now that I've gotten caught up on this thread, I'm craving shrimp and grits - which SD HAS to try. The yummiest grits are made with cheddar cheese in them and served with grilled shrimp on top (with a light creole seasoning) and a side of collards. Makes you wanna slap your momma!!!

Hafta depart from the native Southern food thing here - homey don't eat filter feeders. Otherwise, I'd be right there with you.

No, the shrimp and grits being the Southern dish. Sorry - I just can't get past that whole filter-feeder thing. I like 'em, and I like lobster and scallops. But it just grosses me out. They're the trash cans of the sea. I know, I'm a weenie.

Okay, Miss Fancy Pants, throw some Maine lobster or scallops on top of those grits and add a side of collards - I'm sure it would still be wonderful (especially if you wrapped the scallops in bacon)! :laugh
