Coronavirus Ushers In an Unconstitutional Hell for America

Those Governors will keep it up until a couple of them get lead poisoning, then the rest will rethink their policies. The American people will only take so much crap before everyone goes postal.

The American people have lost their spines and already allowed way too much. Not until the government comes for their guns, forces the economy to tank completely, mandate a different kind of segregation and persecutes anyone trying to speak reason, years of poverty rivaling the Great Depression, and finally abolishing everyone's right to practice the religion of their choice is when the people will attempt to rise up. Only by then the teeth will be pulled, they are already being pulled, the fear will keep everyone silent, least their own neighbor or even family will hear and report them.
Sorry, but most Americans worry more about what new iPhone is coming out and only talk behind the screens, while obediently putting on the masks to enter a grocery store and leave their elderly parents to die alone these days.
Can you say I don't have much faith in the American people rising up these days and standing up for our Constitution?

When the economy gets to the point you described and prevents people from being able to pay for all those things they cherish and desire; then they will wonder why socialism didn't work.
 
I read an article yesterday (but of course now I can't find it) which was interesting. Its main point was questioning whether or not we wear masks to feel good about "doing something" to stop the virus, even though what we're doing has not been proven to be effective. It made logical sense so of course it has to be fake news. Does anyone truly believe that homemade masks work or does everyone wear the same OSHA approved and scientifically tested mask?

I prefer to live before i die, not die while being dead. Does it matter whether or not one dies healthy or ill?

I wear the KN-95 mask at work and when I go into other businesses. I have to wear it at work as it is required and we enforce the mask rule with all customers who come into our stores. If a customer refuses to wear a mask, we escort them out of the store. We have had to do that a few times, but for the most part our customers have no qualms about wearing them. The sales for my store are higher than they were last year.

I wear a mask when I go into other businesses. Walmart has a mask policy they do not enforce. They did at first, but now they don't. Whenever I go into Walmart, I see far more people not wearing a mask than those who do. I see the majority of the elderly wearing them. Wearing a mask does not protect me from those not wearing one. It does protect those who wear one and those who don't from me much better than if I weren't wearing one. The age group I see most not wearing a mask are those of high school age to their early 30s; those who are least likely not to suffer the serious effects of Covid. Is the mask 100% effective? Of course not, but data shows it's 65% effective if everyone around you wears one.

Don't get me wrong; I'm not advocating a national mandate that everyone must wear a mask when in public places. I don't believe if everyone wore a mask that it would eradicate the virus. Remember the data shows the mask is only 65% effective. Biden knows this as well because it's what the science is saying. Biden saying a mask mandate will save lives and control the virus is a foolish statement to make. First of all, how do you enforce such a mandate? You can't. You can have 25 police cars patrolling one 10 mile section of an interstate to ticket speeders, but will it stop everyone from speeding? People will slow down to the speed limit or below it when they see a police car, but then speed back up again once they are past it. It's the same with enforcing masks.

It's ludicrous to think that people will wear a mask in their own home if it's mandated to do so. Such a mandate will have neighbors calling the police on each other. Are we to tie up the time of our police officers to answer such calls?

Biden was foolish to say his leadership could get this virus under control. Without a vaccine, his only choices are a mask mandate that would only be 65% effective and shutting down the nation. Neither of those would eradicate the virus. People would still die from the virus with a mask mandate. Businesses and millions of people would be destroyed financially with a shutdown.

The only thing that will come close to stopping the spread of the virus is an effective vaccine. It won't eradicate it because not everyone will take the vaccine; especially when you have people like Gov. Cuomo who comes out and says you cannot trust it because it was developed too quickly. You have many in the public believing the same thing and saying they will refuse to take it. Once the vaccine is being distributed, there will be people who will die from covid just as people continue to die from the flu every year. If Biden is president during this time, how will he respond when people continue to die from covid and people tell him he is to blame? Of course he will deny it's his fault and blame it on the previous administration.

Depends on what you mean by "work". Cloth masks are supposed to reduce the chance of you transmitting the virus if you have a symptomless case by 60% or so. (Catching most larger liquid particles on the way out) They only reduce the chance of you *getting* the virus by 20% or so. (Trying to remember the numbers, those are not right, but should be close) Both those effects though will help slow the virus from spreading.

Are they anywhere close to perfect? Nope. Is it enough to keep the hospitals from getting overloaded? Maybe, if everyone wore them.

Unless one is a true believer that the vaccine will save all, then the name of the game is to slow the spread so that the hospitals can keep up with those that are hardest hit by the virus. Herd immunity should build as this goes on. I'm willing to wear one in the store just in case I have it and to get that 20% chance of saving me from getting it, (or ideally, reducing the number of virus particles I get, which should give me a milder case).

The alternative is no masks and shutdown the economy for six weeks every time the hospitals get close to capacity. That's nutz.

Or do neither and have a lot more people die earlier than they needed to.

I think every little bit helps.
 
I don't believe much in the effectiveness of masks simply because that 65% of them stopping the larger particles from escaping is only valid for a short period of time. Masks needs to be changed constantly to keep their effectiveness and nobody is doing it. How many people have you seen wearing the same one saturated by sweat, moisture from their own breath, touched to death constantly for hours and hours on end? How much bacteria is bred on them? How about constricted breathing for hours? And how many people have already breathed on and touched that same cloth mask hanging on the rack at the store that you're about to buy and put on?
How long does this virus survive in the air or on hard surfaces? Has anyone heard a reliable answer to it? Or do all of the "experts" still giving everyone a different number?
What's the effectiveness of this promised vaccine? What about possible side effects, long term damages? How will it effect people with different health issues and other medications? How much faith do you have in Big Pharma not to approve something harmful knowingly, as they have so many times before, killing hundreds of thousands of people with their "miracle drug"?
Do we even have the correct numbers of cases or are those hospital overloads once again nothing but a scare tactic and fear mongering? Do people still test positive one day and 3 days later confirmed with the second test that they don't have covid? My mom was one of those people only a month ago.
Have we counted how many fatalities have resulted from over extended mask use, bullying for not wearing a mask and depression due to isolation? Or do those numbers count as irrelevant since they haven't tested positive for covid? Or have they been counted as covid because there have been close to no other causes of death recorded since March? Does dying of a heart attack still count as dying of covid too?
How far will we go with turning people away from our businesses and denounce them as worthy members of society for not wearing a mask?
What do you do when the person in your store/business starts to get dizzy, overheated and sweaty from not getting enough oxygen, their vitals going haywire and takes the mask off? Will you escort them out or demand they immediately put the mask back on?
How soon will those that are unable to wear a mask due to asthma, COPD, other physical conditions, those that have panic disorders, claustrophobia and other mental disorders will be told to only shop online and have takeout/deliver for the greater good of everyone else and isolate them even further?
Does covid still attacks people after 9 pm? And if it does can we have Thanksgiving and Christmas as long as we follow the guidelines to keep our guests outside and disburse by 8:59 pm? Since laughing, singing and talking loud brings on covid, does flatulence as well?
Where does this all stop? It seems I have more questions than answers.
 
Regarding masks...though I'm not medically trained, I am professionally trained in air filtration. too many people are hung up on the size of the virus molecule (measured in microns) vs the filtration rating of masks. Contrary to what many people think, the virus is not airborne in the strictest sense. It is carried by the droplets we spew when we breath, talk, sing, cough, burp, etc. So we don't necessarily need super fine filtration, just just need to stop, or at least slow down the droplets.

Take a bath towel. Just terry cloth, it will not stop air from going through it, it won't even stop water. But, it will slow it down. Have a friend hold a bath towel like a bullfighter would hold his cape. Then take a water hose with a nozzle and spray a stream at the towel. The majority of the water will ht the towel and fall straight down. Why, because the towel provides resistance even though it is not waterproof.

This is how masks work. They are most effective on the pitcher (the person having COVID) because the mask catches the droplets and slows the velocity of the air coming out of the person's mouth and nose. Having slowed the air down, it will not travel as far.

As for the catcher (a person trying not to catch COVID) a mask can catch some of the droplets from others, thereby offering some protection.

BUT, this probably works better in theory than in reality. Most people don't wear the mask correctly, many don't fit well and a lot of people pull them down below their noses. Reportedly, our nose receptors is the main way we catch the virus, not our mouths. We don't throw disposables away often enough, we don't wash the cloth masks, we fiddle with them constantly and have our fingers all over our noses and mouths. And BTW, these super thin cloths don't offers as much protection as having layers does. Having layers is probably more important than the fineness of the media is.

So in balance...do masks help? I think they do, but probably not nearly as much as politicians think they do. If we had a better standard for mask material, wore them correctly, kept them clean and/or changed, and kept our hands off our faces; they would probably be more effective.

Having said...it's just horrible what this has done to our liberties, the effect it's having on our children is heartbreaking. And it's given government, especially the political left, the weapon they needed to control the masses and throw elections. I won't go so far to say that the Democrats gave us COVID, but it's the greatest political give the Dems have ever gotten. And I'm still not convinced it was all just an accident.

Apparently many doctors believe you can get covid through your eyes as they are exposed to droplets in the air. Look at all the medical personnel who wear both a mask and a face shield while working with covid patients.

I see a lot of people in public who wear a face shield, but not a mask. Does this work better than a mask? Not according to my wife who is a nurse practitioner, nor my doctor. The shields are worn to protect people eyes from coming into contact with droplets from someone else.

While a person wears a face shield in lieu of a mask and sneezes or coughs; the shield deflects the direction of many droplets to exit the shield through the left and right sides of it, which does not protect the people around you. This why the CDC says not to wear a face shield without also wearing a mask.

I don't see a hard restriction coming on religion (it's too obvious ).

Large religious gatherings? Yes.

Taking away weapons? Again... not a hard restriction on gun ownership, although probably a clamp-down on the types of weapons and an even larger clamp-down on ammunition production and sales (stock-up now boys!)

I just bought some 9mm hollow-points online and it took a while to be delivered (over a week) and wasn't cheap at all.

I personally don't think masks do a whole lot, but I wear one at the grocery store. I took mine off at the gym the other day and it was glorious..... it felt like the good ol' days of 2017 all over again.
