CNN makes it official: Smollett orchestrated the attack

I think it's fair to say that today there's as much reverse-discrimination as discrimination. Does this mean there's less discrimination now than before or only that now there's an equal amount in the opposite direction?

People just need to treat others with love and respect, at least until they've harmed you. Then throat-punch them indiscriminately regardless of ethnicity or nationality.

There are absolutely times when action is required. But the rest of the time, the old "Can't we just get along" philosophy goes a long way.

I guess America has gone full circle. Irony. Someone said this used to happen the other way around. White people would frame a black person. Scottsboro Boys.

This is the new racists. Smear white Americans with MAGA as the reason. No one will question it... least they be seen as inappropriate.

I see further divergence since Trump became President. I also see a lot of people who see the left moving further left and the right moving further right and they realize that they are not on either path. I don't have a large number of progressive friends or family, but I see some moving so far left that it frightens me, and others looking at the new crop of Socialist spokesmodels with disdain. None of them are on the Trump train, they aren't even in the station, but they have looked left, and looked right, and decided they want to go forward instead. I'm blessed by those people.

I also have quite a few staunch conservative friends who hopped on the Trump thrill ride, mostly because he wasn't the Rhino they had grown tired of. Some have come back and others haven't, but again I am blessed by those who see the value in living their own lives. I feel saddened by those trapped in the personality politics around this man. No man, economic policy, or party is your savior.

I get called a lot of names in spite of the fact that I try to stay civil. I'm not easily pigeonholed, although those who don't actually know me seem quite ready to do so. Maybe that's why when my bullshit detector goes off it draws ire from someone. Everyone wants to attach some dire motive to statements they disagree with, and if that means that one minute I'm a fascist Trumpster and the next a Communist libtard I guess that's how it's going to be. While I am blessed by the good intentions and wise discussion of so many, I'm saddened by those so unwilling or unable to reason for themselves. I will admit to wanting to shake stupid out of them sometimes, but I'm afraid it would just stir it up. We are all free to disagree, but for God sake some people need to use their next paycheck to buy some common sense and start saving for a little decorum.
Smollett's actions were transparent and inexcusable. That doesn't have any bearing on the next black guy who might actually get attacked in an alley, or the next red hat wearing person who is run out of a restaurant. How many racially, sexually, or politically motivated attacks are real or false doesn't hold any meaning when you look at an individual incident.

This is more along the line of what I'm seeing from a lot of black folks. ;)

I mean, you really can't blame people for wanting to believe the best about someone that they maybe enjoyed watching on TV or admired.

This is caused by the extreme Trump hate that we've mentioned many times here. I just don't get it.

Now...I know a lot of people don't like Trump. I'm not even sure I like him. He's arrogant and obnoxious, rude, he's a womanizer, etc etc. I knew he would be controversial, and that's one of the main reasons I was opposed to him in the primaries. He's a lightning rod.

But fact is, he's doing a lot of things right. Not everything, but much more good than bad. We can't argue with the numbers! His policies have helped virtually all of us, yet many still hate him?

Why?

Yeah, he beat Hillary, their candidate. And thank God he did! We had two very flawed candidates last election, and one of them was going to be our next president.

The lessor of evils won. And he is by far the lessor of evils.

Democrats need to re-route that hate and raise hell with their own party. They conspired with Hillary to rig the primaries and then put forth what might have been the most unlikable candidate ever to get the nomination. Had they ran someone more likable, which would have been just about anyone else; they would have probably beat Trump. So hey Democrats....wanna hate, hate your own corrupt party.

Gonna be interesting if TPTB make it go away...
Or if TPTB (who are supposed to be his buddies)...
Abandon him and let him fall...

If the latter...
A lesson for libbies:
Be careful breaking the law for the cause...
You may have to pay on your own.
