Cakes!!!

I don't actually have a business yet, but I am contemplating starting one up soon. In the meantime, I am asking family and friends to think of me when they want a cake. Prices would vary depending on what you want and I can tell you that my buttercream is delicious! ;D Anyway, if you are interested in having me do a cake for you, let me know. I am working on getting an album of pictures together and will post it as soon as I am done.
 
I may be needing a cake soon. Something along the lines of an 8" round, 2 layer, yellow cake, chocolate icing. (I still haven't gotten my oven fixed and I just don't see it happening in the next week or so.)

Can you give me an idea what you'd charge for the cake I described in my earlier post above?

Love the slide show and the cakes - they are beautifully done!!! I would like to order in advance one of the Easter basket cakes. I will order from you every holiday and more - your cakes are gorgeous!

your cakes are AMAZING!!! I need to show my friend your cakes cause her little girls bday is in July and she loves strawberry shortcake! Do you have a list of pricing? I will def. keep you in mind!

I don't have a list of prices as of right now because it will vary from cake to cake depending on supplies and the time I have to put into it. I can't remember how much batter it took to do Strawberry Shortcake, so I will have to get back to you once I can look.

I love the “Happy Birthday Old Fart!” LOL

It reminds me of the cake I had made for my mom’s 50th a couple of years ago. It was grey with black roses and in black writing it said, “IIIIII’m 50!!” It was from Molly Shannon’s character on SNL, the one that could, “Punch! Kick! Do a twist! ‘Cause IIIII’m 50!”

My brother and I walked around for months saying “I’m 50!” to her. LOL She hated our guts.
 
Ok, I spent a good part of yesterday trying to figure out some basic prices. This is what I have come up with...

Basic 8 in round, 2-layer cake $15
1/2 sheet cake (roughly 11in x 15in) starting at $30
Shaped cakes, such as the Strawberry Shortcake and the awareness ribbon cakes, starting at $20
Easter basket cake $35

I say starting because if the cake requires more work, such as extra cake, like the ant hill cake, or other special designs, the price may go up.
 
We need to chat! I love baking cookies and cakes, but only do it for my friends and family. I have started using a buttercream fondant that people actually eat instead of putting to the side. Anyway none of my close friends bake and I would love to have someone else that does to exchange tips and ideas with.

BTW..I love the Easter Basket cake. It is really nice!

Sounds good to me! :) Thanks! I actually have an order for 4 of those Easter cakes!!! I am so excited, and a little nervous, about my first real order.
