Bread and Madea!

I have been trying to make my own bread. Well, I made one loaf and it didn't turn out right. But I figured out the issue (when baking bread, oz is weight NOT volume, so my first loaf didn't have enough flour. Oops) so I have my second loaf rising, and it has been since three this afternoon. I can't wait to bake it tomorrow!!

Madea, thanks for those links you posted for me!! I'm going to make the first one (white bread) either tomorrow or Tuesday. Probably Tuesday. I'm so excited!! Ill let you know how it turns out.

Maybe I should get a life? Who gets this excited over bread?! Haha! Honestly I want to learn to do this so I can make our own and not buy it.
 
We get excited over bread in our house! I'm not great at making it, but BBG is. He loves to make homemade bread. I definitely makes your house smell great!
 
MrsB - I get excited about stuff like that, too! I haven't thought about making bread in a very long time, but I think that might be something to check into in the near future.
 
Glad you are enjoying! I enjoy making homemade bread, but rarely have or make time to do it. It's so much better. Keep us posted!
 
Mrs. B - you are not alone. :) I don't eat a lot of sweet stuff but I love bread - I would eat bread over a candy bar any day! :) Believe it or not, the "boxed" bread mixes have done really well for me lately - the white, sourdough and Italian breads are great from the box and very little work.

There is just something about having homemade bread (even if it is semi-homemade)..........I hope your loaf turns out really well today!

Oh my gosh... It's the best smell in the world! The loaf I made the other day wasn't too bad, but just not right. And too salty. But it smelled heavenly as it baked... I had a very hard time not shoving it in my mouth as soon as it came out of the oven. Lol
 
Madea, Ill for sure keep you posted. My dough looks fabulous this morning. :cheer1 yay ! It's a "quick" no knead sourdough. It takes 19 hours to rise, a couple of punches and folding and another 3 hours rise.

BB, I am a sucker for bread. I love a good, crusty bread. Or rolls. I would choose a good bread over a candy bar any day as well. (Except lately, I'd eat both!)
 
I'm just excited when there is bread in my house... any kind.... :dunno
 
Oh my gosh! It's so good! I'm so proud!! I e already eaten half of it with butter, while it was still warm. Yummmmmmm mmmmmmmm.... Now I've started another loaf to take to my neighbor. Since Ive already eaten half of this one I thought I should just make them their own, and ill take it while its hot. :cheer1

Madea!! I made the "lulu" white bread and it is delicious! It's way, way better than anything I've ever bought at the store. It's very soft and moist. It was pretty easy, except for the loaf that got stuck. Oops.

Yay! LOL I sent some next door to my neighbor and she loves it, too! I'm for sure going to be making this a lot!
