Cal-Maine Foods says it has temporarily closed an egg production facility in Texas after H5N1 bird flu there wiped out nearly two million chickens.

I knew someone who had chickens. Sure, they had a lot of fresh eggs, but they were always having to find someone to feed and water them, and gather the eggs if they wanted to go away for a weekend or longer.
