(CNN)The White House on Wednesday unveiled a plan to move the nation to a new stage of the pandemic where Covid-19 "does not disrupt our daily lives," while also preparing the nation for any new variants that may emerge.
The National Covid-19 Preparedness Plan, which will require additional funding from Congress, is focused on spending on treatments for Covid-19, preparing for new variants, keeping schools and businesses open and continuing the effort to vaccinate the nation and the world.
"Vaccines, treatments, tests, masks -- these tools are how we continue to protect people and enable us to move forward safely and get back to our more normal routines. Going out to eat at a restaurant, taking that trip that's been long delayed, arranging a play date for your kids, attending a sports game, a movie or a concert again," White House Covid-19 response coordinator Jeff Zients told reporters at a White House briefing.

A major new part of the plan includes a new "Test to Treat" initiative that President Joe Biden announced during his State of the Union address Tuesday night. He said Americans would be able to get tested for Covid-19 at a pharmacy and receive free antiviral pills "on the spot" if they test positive.

Zients said hundreds of these "One-Stop Test to Treat" locations will open across the country this month. These sites will be at pharmacy-based clinics, community health centers, long-term care facilities and US Department of Veterans Affairs facilities across the country.
Pfizer's antiviral pill, Paxlovid, has been shown to significantly reduce hospitalizations and severe illness and was authorized by the US Food and Drug Administration last year. Upon its authorization, Biden announced a purchase of 10 million courses. The President has since said the federal government will double its order from 10 million to 20 million treatment courses.

We shipped a 53' trailer full of palletized masks from Houston / Mobile last Saturday. The guy in Houston is desperate to ship 190 more full truckloads just to purge his inventory of them. He told me they placed a $14M order for them back when the pandemic began and is now stuck with the remaining ones. I started to feel sorry for him but then I thought about all the money they made when selling them at high prices when they were in demand.

Yep... and I figured we were done with the effing Mask last year, then Omicron started and the scum of the earth Gavin Newsom Masked us up again for another 120 days... The masks that I thought we no longer needed, I had to go out and purchase more to "give away free" to those idiots who can't be bothered to buy their own, but want to get into a Uber, go to a concert, or other places they needed one while on vacation... never bothering to bring their own.

For some reason I don't think Newsom is done putting masks on all in his state, nor are other tyrant Governors. Newsom won't even let the poor school children take them off.

I bet the evil will have one last gasp to mask us again... vaxx us again... jam the testing swabs up noses again. How else will they move all those Pfizer's antiviral pills, Paxlovid?

In my state, as of February 19th, Newsome signed a new law that we have to pay people another 80 hours, on top of the 80 hours last year, if they test Covid positive from Jan. 1 2022 to September 30 2022... I bet they extend it to Dec 31 2022. This is on top of the law that the days they miss from Covid can't be paid from the 40 hours of state mandated sick time you must allow employees every year. That is 120 hours of sick pay, ... three weeks!

I bet your shipper will get to sell those masks in a few months when the flu or colds start and we have to mask up again. He should ship them to California.
