BBC Journalist an Idiot

Far West

Pursuit Driver

BBC journalist Padraig Belton tweeted his surprise Tuesday that he could not buy a computer cord for his laptop at Walmart but could buy “a rifle and ammunition.”

He attached a photo of the “rifle and ammunition” that showed the images of a Red Ryder BB gun and BBs.

There were other air guns in the photo as well, some of which appear to take pellets:

Hi from America. Where Walmart doesn’t have a plug adapter for my UK laptop. But on the other hand, I can buy a rifle and ammunition.

Love one of the comments:

Just be glad we weren't carrying BB guns when we showed up to save you from a lifetime of goose-stepping, you idiot

Hi from America. Where our Christmas movies depict children receiving fully automatic weapons from Santa Claus

Hi from America where 10 year olds defend their homes with belt fed 50 caliber full autos

Sir, it gets worse. You can literally walk into Walmart and leave with a M1 Abrams tank.

Sir it’s even worse than you think. They also sell GRENADES at the dollar store.

Worse yet, that RR BB gun has a 650 round magazine!

Oh the outrage!

And BTW...Red Riders barely even qualify as a BB gun. We used to intentionally shoot each other with them. So long as you avoid the eye, they leave a welp, at most.
same here.

my son just bought a BB gun pistol.

it looks (and feels) dead-on a Glock 9mm.
it even has "Glock" stamped onto it.

we have ducks in our swimming pool ( they make a mess)..... their days are numbered.

Air-Soft "guns" are much more common, and some of those things will put a hurting on you.
Perhaps we should find this BBC Journalist and treat him to getting pinged with an airsoft, BB Pellets, and a bullet and he can tell us first hand what he thinks... since he had to tell how evil Wally World is to sell Red Rider and Daisy "guns."

:dunno: :laughbunny::stirpot:

Some of those spring loaded "hunting" air rifles with either .177 and .25 pellets will put a hurting on you too.

Of course, I guess we should be quiet about that, or the libs will want to license them too...

I'm not sure if it's the same way now, but when I bought my black powder rifle 6-7 years ago, you could just pick it up off the rack and pay for it. No background checks, no paperwork. There are guys who hunk Elk and other long distance prey with BP, they are quite deadly. A .50 cal hole though you will mess up your day, expansion or not.

It seems that federal law doesn't consider them firearms, while GA state law does. So they can be shipped interstate with no issue, but if you are prohibited by GA law from owning a firearm, then you can't own a BP weapon either.

Oh yeah, and they make six/seven shot revolvers with quick replace magazines too. Lots of shots and a smoke screen too.
