A few weeks ago our middle daughter broke the news to that she is expecting her second child. She wanted us to keep it quiet for a few weeks until she was beyond a certain milestone. She called today to say we can now share the news and also that it’s another boy. This will make our 4th grandchild….all boys…ages 16 years, 2 years, 3 months, and one on the way. Thank you Lord for our blessings.

Congrats. I have accepted that we likely wont have any grandkids. Both of my girls don't want to bring kids into this world. It sucks but I would rather them not have kids if they feel this way. Guess grandpets is all we are gonna get.

We are likely the same way. We seem to have made our kids WAY too independent and they are not even dating. We do have one Granddog, but he's insane. It does make him fit in though.

I did not think I would have any either. Son wanted them, but his bride did not... I told him, "The no wins... be at peace with that if you marry." They had dated since they were 16.

She hated babies because her mom and dad, who love each other, got pregnant again 16 years after they had my Daughter -In -Law. So, DIL endured a screaming baby, and the noise and mess that comes with a baby when she was 16, and was sure at age17 that she did not want to have a baby.

When she was 29 friends and neighbors had babies that she was holding and helping with, and she decided babies were not that bad.

I have a 2 month old granddaughter now... She may be an only child :cheesy:... but I have one!

"She who adores me" was the least maternal woman I had ever met. Whenever we would visit people with children, she would stay away from them and I Was the one down on the floor playing with the kids.

But nature has a way of changing us when necessary. She because a fantastic mother.
