All This Stripping is Wearing Me Out!!!

I've been working on Jennifer's deck now for awhile. The top layer (3 others underneath that) was peeling badly in spots. Since she is putting her house up for sale, I thought it would look bad by just scraping the peeling paint and then painting over it. Instead, I opted to sand it all off. The deck wraps around three sides of the house, so it was a lot of sanding. I rented a floor sander and took the paint all off except for the areas right up tight to the house and underneath the railing. I bought some paint stripper at Home Depot made by Behr, but it was only taking one layer at a time. You would have to let it dry thoroughly before adding more.

Using that stuff was taking forever. I did a little research online about paint strippers and every place I saw a discussion on this topic, everyone was recommending Citristrip. I went to Walmart yesterday and bought two bottles of it (they're small) for $11.99 each. That stuff works great.

I applied it to the wood underneath the railing and along side the house on the side deck. I let it soak for about 45 minutes and then hit it with the power washer. It removed about 95% of the paint on the first application. I should have the paint all removed by today.

Oh, you didn't think this post was about me taking my clothes off did you?

I will admit that I said a little prayer before I opened this post. :pray
