8 shot at gas station on Northside Drive in Atlanta, police say

Years ago, my dad had to take an injured co-worker to Grady Hospital in Atlanta to get some X-rays. While he was in the waiting room waiting for his co-worker to get checked out, a carload of folks arrived at the emergency room and brought in their friend who'd been cut up and stabbed in a street fight. The Grady nursing staff gave the guy a few towels to put pressure on his wounds till they could get him in the back to see the doctor. Grady Hospital has been called The Slaughterhouse for years by the locals... we all know why.

When I lived in Los Angeles, I did some work at MLK Hospital (in the hood).

The sidewalks there were stained in blood from shot-up homeboys being dropped off onto the sidewalk by their crew.
The gangsters would hit the horn, attracting attention for help, and then drive off leaving the bleeding gangbanger on the sidewalk.... waiting for help.

Good Times !!

What good friends they were for taking their homey to the hospital.
